Community College Credit

Post by zozin » Sat Apr 03, 2010 8:03 pm

My school has a foreign language requirement, which I haven't completed yet. I could take a proficiency exam or take a 102 or higher course, either at my school or CC. I can still walk in May, but I won't actually "graduate" until I complete this requirement.

The question I have: If I took 2-3 classes at CC to boost my GPA, including the foreign language, would LSAC count those classes into my LSAC GPA? Technically, it's before I received a diploma.

= yes. Hope this helps. If you already have enough credits to graduate but for the language deficiency, the Spanish grades are unlikely to move your GPA more than a whisker.

God I hated Spanish. I never understood why a damn English major had to take 4 freaking Spanish classes.

Or math classes.

OP, what's your current GPA? Will it put you over some hump, like a 3.45 to a 3.51?

"Those awarded after the first undergraduate degree was received."

This is what I'm wondering about, is the degree "received" when I walk for graduation in May, or when I get the diploma in the mail (after CC classes).

Sorta. If I take 3 classes, and I get As --- 3.39 - 3.43

I think if you haven't fulfilled a requirement (that you need in order to graduate) then even if you walk you haven't technically graduated so it will still count

Yes. LSAC goes by your diploma date, not your commencement ceremony.
