Health Care Overhaul

Post by gustrock » Thu Mar 25, 2010 11:59 pm

Part of Obamacare is the idea of "stripping banks and other private lenders of their ability to originate student loans in favor of a system of direct government lending." What exactly does this mean for us law students seeking financial aid?

i think it means lower interest rates. we will borrow directly from the govt, so we'll be cutting out the middle man (private banks).

it's a good thing.

for loan repayment, wasnt there something about soon being obligated to serve in a community service organization like americorp or the peace corp for a designated amount of time, rather than traditional monetary repayment?
