I actually live in Memphis(I'm in undergrad right now). My 4 person house runs about 1100/month in rent. Its not exactly the middle of nowhere, but it has a pretty low COL.

College town in a metro area with over a million people. I guess being called nowhere is worth $2k less a month in rent.
