1L 2.0 - Tech upgrade for law school

Post by carlkenneth » Tue Mar 09, 2010 10:24 pm

So I've been out of school for awhile and I was wondering which gadgets I should invest in? When I finished undergrad 8 years ago cell phones were just becoming the norm, iPods were practically the size of my hands, and I still had a VCR.

I've heard a few people say that they were getting a Netbook for law school, an AirMac, etc. I was thinking about the iPhone or Google Phone myself. I'm also intrigued by the new Apple Tablet thingy. I'd love to be the coolest guy in class with a fancy new gadget - I've never been that guy before.

Anyone else thinking of a tech upgrade? If so, what are you getting? Any current students have recommendations?

Just get a laptop. If you get an ipad people will think you are that guy, but that isn't the guy you want to be. The retard with an ipad.

Are you kidding me?! I plan on bringing an iPad and ONLY an iPad with me to law school. Laptop? Phone? Notebooks? Car? Mattress? Food? Pfft! My iPad takes care of all of that. I'm not even going to buy my casebooks, that is how confident I am in my iPad's capabilities. In fact, I may just forgo law school all together, because with the new iPad's new JD iDegree application, becoming a lawyer is as easy as, well, flicking your index finger!

Parchment, a quill pen, an inkwell, and a morning coat.

You should look into one of these

and one of these

I will personally have the Nimbus 10000, but to each his own. Also plan on getting the Examples & Explanations for Potions. I hear from people who just took the O.W.L. that that class is brutal.

Hah! I'm not too concerned about Potions. I'm more worried about Defence Against the Dark Arts - now thats a difficult subject. I need to do well on the O.W.L. so that I can transfer to Hogwart's from my TTT.
