American law degree in Australia...

Post by GoodToBeTheKing » Fri Mar 05, 2010 11:10 am

Does anyone know how well an american law degree would do in Australia? I am considering learning American law and then moving to Australia and working for an Australia company who would do trade with America, and therefore would need to know American trade law. Is this a viable option?

Definitely a viable option. Generally, the international portability of a degree is even more strongly determined by the school's reputation than the domestic portability, however.

This is obviously late but may help others out there. Apparently, it seems the Melbourne JD is ABA Approved. Not sure exactly what that means for a US Practitioner but it can't hurt.
