Psyched for Law School!
Now that we all know what our fears are, in the spirit of USS: Optimism, lets talk about what we are excited for about law school. I have a feeling this will not be as active of a thread...
Oddly enough, I am excited for the workload. It sounds incredibly difficult and I am excited to start 'figuring it out.'
I'm excited to meet some interesting people, as I myself am not one of them. I want to get to know everyone from the nerdy art girl, to the NCAA athlete, to the 35 year old father/husband.
I'm excited to be surrounded by not only brilliant professors, but some pretty intelligent students as well. I love a great academic atmosphere.
If I end up in another part of the country, I am excited for that too, especially if I end up in North Carolina.
That's all I got... anyone else?!

The real world sucks, here's to 3 more years of avoiding responsibility.
Oh, and my interest in the subject matter has genuinely been piqued, and I'm excited to start learning it...

I will be more excited when I actually get an acceptance. But yes, the idea of taking a break from the "real world" is wonderful.

+1 and cheers to the only person I've ever seen spell that properly on the internet.starstruck393 wrote:The real world sucks, here's to 3 more years of avoiding responsibility.

There isn't a day that goes by when i don't wish i was still in undergrad. Having a job blows. Paying bills sucks even more. I'd love to go back to the days of going out on tuesday nights, seeing my friends everyday, and spending my parents' money on whatever. I'm looking forward to law school because it'll give me a chance to break the boring cycle that my life has fallen into after college.

Re: Psyched for Law School!
SGA President, 3 Faculty Committees, I teach a class, work a job 25 hours a week, sit on the Colleges Board of Trustees, take 19 credit hours and have the whole law-school application process to put up with on top of everything else in life.
This time next year, I will have 1 thing to do-->study. I'm going to love it.

After breezing through my liberal arts major in undergrad, I'm excited to take courses that will actually be useful and relevant to my future career.

i'm looking forward to the challenge.
competing with folks at a top law school will be intense, and it will be way out of my comfort zone.
i tend to enjoy that though so it should be fun.

I'm excited to start learning about things that will actually matter in my career. Every case impacted someone's (or a corporation's) life; it's real...real enough for people to spend time & money to go to court over. I'm pumped for that.

Re: Psyched for Law School!
I'm quite excited to start law school! Really, if one isn't, I feel compelled to wonder why they are going to law school in the first place.
I especially look forward to getting to know my fellow students (and future lawyers), as well as having the chance to learn from some of the big names in the law. It's also nice to finally be able to work on my professional degree and take the conclusory steps to starting an actual career.

I am excited to not work for awhile. I did my entire UG while working FT (and almost always having a 2nd PT job as well) so it will be really nice to just focus on school.

i've been out of undergrad for going on 4 years... the jobs i had paid me little and were generally not challenging at all... i was basically a glorified babysitter at one place and a scapegoat at another... i am excited to study law and eventually be my own boss doing something that will benefit other people
also excited about moving to cali from the northeast

I'm excited to quit my job! Focusing completely on studying is something that I never had the chance to do. I can't wait to go to school for a living! Since I will probably take the full scholarship I was offered at a T2, I see it as making 35K per year to study.

I had to come back and finish a year and a half of UG before going, and I can't wait. I've started to read Getting to Maybe, and I can't wait to tackle other law-related stuff. /gunner

I'm excited to be doing something that is intellectually stimulating that is for an actual purpose and not just my after-work reading habits.
I'm also excited to be changing professions. I use maybe 1% of my brain on a daily basis. It makes me very bored.

I'm psyched to meet new people! I have been in the same city for 23 years. Stayed here for elementary, high-school and undergrad. I cannot wait to broaden my horizons a bit and meet people from different places and walks of life. I need a break from my suburban city.
