Typical day (class start times...lunch breaks...studying...)
The title kind of says it all. What times do classes usually start? Is there time for a decent lunch break? Is there a lot of studying between classes? I have seen the day in the life of thing that BU has on their site and I just wanted some other opinions.
Based on this first comment, I will add this: I am going to be going full time and not working while I am in law school. I also plan on having a short commute to school (20 mins or so). The schools I am looking at now are Villanova, Penn State, Ohio State and Northeastern.

Re: Typical day (class start times...lunch breaks...studying...)
This depends totally on the school / program?
Monday - Thursday:
5:40 Wake up, shower, breakfast, walk puppies.
6:30 Leave house, walk to train
7:00 Catch train to shuttle to work. Read on train / shuttle.
8:00 Arrive at work. Work.
4:30 Leave Work. Shuttle to Train to Class.
6:00 Arrive at School. Read until Class
6:30 Class.
9:10 Leave class.
9:30 Get home. Eat Dinner. See Husband. Feed dogs.
10:00 Crash
Friday: Replace "Class" with "Study Group"
Saturday: Read/Brief.
Sunday: Read/Brief.

I'll play. This is my schedule this semester.
6:45 - Wake up, eat breakfast, check websites, shower
8:30 - Bus to school
9:00-11:30 - Two classes
11:30-12:30 - Lunch
12:30-2:30 - Read in the library
2:30-4:30 - Two classes
5:00-7:00 - Read or watch TV
7:00-8:00 - Dinner/TV extravanganza
8:00-12:00 - Reading interspersed with liberal amounts of TV and video games. Probably do a total of an hour or two of work in this time span.
Bedtime!
Oh yes, forgot weekends:
Friday afternoon/night - No law related stuff
Saturday - Maybe do reading in the morning, depending on my workload. Otherwise, relax all day.
Sunday - This is my weekend work day. Usually this means an hour or two of work in the morning, an hour or two in the afternoon, and an hour or two at night.
This is for two days of the week. The other three I have either one or two less classes. The amount of work done in law school is greatly exaggerated. Of course, this all changes when you have a LRW paper due or during finals. Finals my schedule was all law, all day (with some TV and video games thrown in for sanity's sake).

Re: Typical day (class start times...lunch breaks...studying...)
Schedule
M-Fri
8ish: wake up, shower, etc
9ish: arrive at school, read over material for class, finish whatever needs finishing
10 (or 1030 depending on the day) to Noon: Class
Noon-1:30: Lunch + Studying
1:30 - 3ish: Class
3-5: Studying
5-630: Commute + dinner + chill time
630-___: Reading and Studying as necessary
11-Bed: Something fun to end the day, usually an episode of a tv show
Weekends:
Sat: Usually use this day for whatever might need addressing be it a review of previous materials, Legal writing, job stuff, etc. Generally I try to work at least 3-4 hours on Saturday (as much as my motivation holds up hehe)
Sun: Usually read ahead for the week, Noon-3/4, break, then 6-9 or so.
This is the ideal schedule...I usually stick to it.

It all sounds like a vacation to me. I usually work anywhere between 60 and 70 hours a week.

Yes, between 06 and 09 I worked 60 hours/week easy. I shouldn't have too much of a problem. No hubris.kalvano wrote:It all sounds like a vacation to me. I usually work anywhere between 60 and 70 hours a week.

Yeah I noticed that, her commute seems pretty long too though, but I guess since it's shuttle/train there's time to study in there.sdegarmo wrote:yeah but that one is LS+Job+owning puppiesaznflyingpanda wrote:Wow seriously? With all these posts on TLS midday, I'm assuming you're at work while doing it? Not exactly a rough 70 hour week if you ask me!kalvano wrote:It all sounds like a vacation to me. I usually work anywhere between 60 and 70 hours a week.
