How does Columbia Law look at Columbia Undergrad?
Hey, I've been search this forum and I haven't quite found an answer to this question. But does Columbia Law Admissions Officers look favorably on Columbia Undergrad? (Either CC or SEAS?)

There are some windows in the law library where there is a view of it I believe.

i lol'd anyway. seems like a career services/academic/prelaw advisor would help you more than we would. they are probably pretty familiar w this.dude2009 wrote:haha... thanks... When I was a CC undergrad (many years ago), I heard rumors that this was a disadvantage when applying to CLS, all else being equal. Now that my ED CLS app this cycle has been "deferred," I'm beginning to believe the conspiracy talk, though my numbers were by no means auto-admit.

I have no basis to say this, but pretty favorably I'd think.
In general CLS is an undergrad prestige whore (lots of ivies, top LACs and top publics). I'd say Columbia undergrad is probably one of the best-represented schools in my class after Harvard, Yale, Princeton, Berkeley and Stanford (and perhaps on par with those last two).

From the prelaw advisor, I've been told that they look favorably upon our kind.

So would you say that HYP undergrad gives a significant GPA bump?
Anyone care to assess an HYP 3.3 with above median lsat?

Heard interesting things on this issue. A well known TLSer from Columbia UG was dinged at CLS with 174/3.8. He's having the last laugh at Harvard.

+ 1 for CLS being a UG prestige whore.imchuckbass58 wrote:I have no basis to say this, but pretty favorably I'd think.

I think Cornell is the best represented in terms of sheer numbers. Back when we had access to admitnet I ran some searches by undergrad, and I'm pretty sure we have 15 Columbia undergrads in our 1L class, which suggests CLS doesn't look upon them disfavorably.

I don't think you'll get in unless your LSAT is above the 75th percentile. The Pen Is Mightier wrote:
