I didn't find Northwestern competitive at all. Especially since so many people take non-curved classes after 1L

From visiting, talking with my friends at T14 and my own experience at a regional school, I disagree completely.Mal Reynolds wrote:Law schools are all the same.
OP do you mean competitive as in tearing out pages in library books and treating classmates like shit or completive as in everyone is trying to finish at the top of the class and working really hard?
My friends at top schools said everyone works incredibly hard but also everyone is really nice and supportive.

Seriously, there is not a substantive difference from my experience, and even if there is, it's not sufficient enough to create some ordered list. Yale is probably competitive too, because everyone there wants to clerk for SCOTUS. The fact is, if you're smart enough (or maybe I should say accomplished enough [or maybe I should say aspie enough]) to get into a T14 school, you're going to care enough to work hard for exams. Frankly, if you're not doing that, you're not doing law school right. Beyond that, the T14 pulls from the same group of high GPA/LSAT prospects, so there are naturally going to be similarities across the board. Whatever reputations the schools have is a facade - UVA's reputation as a party school is something it tries really hard to maintain, but I'll be damned if students still aren't grinding away in the library all the time, outlining, and working their butts off. It's law school, dude - and it's elite law schools at that. Everyone is friendly (for the most part), but everyone works their ass off.
Maybe the only thing I could see that could make a substantial difference in the quality of life for a 1L is graded/non-graded LRW. My school is non-graded, and just from the vibe on here/facebook from people I know elsewhere, I'm sure as hell glad I didn't have to worry that much about my memo/brief in relation. P/F LRW is the shit.
