I took a myriad of useless crap and subsequently earned a B.S. in bullshit in December 2003; one semester early.

art appreciation...looked at slide shows since this was pre-Power Point, and the tests were like "who painted slide # 12?" usually never went to class. Got a C, and if you weren't artsy you weren't getting an A.

intro. to sociology....teacher just read from a crusty old legal pad everyday (literally) without looking up and her chin must have been fused to her sternum, plus all she did was recite statistics like "64% of the population is..." Got a B. heck with memorizing all her stupid statistics that she probably wrote up while Carter was president.

college algebra...what are integers again, and when do we use them? got an F the first summer session and an A immediately after in the second summer session. didn't care either way...still don't.

organizational theory and behavior...all I learned was the definition of efficacy, but holy effing cow what a hard ass class. in fact, all my business classes were freakin hard and unlike any other class I'd ever been in. Got a B and was glad to have it.

learning....still don't know the difference between operant and classical conditioning and really don't care to. Got an A.

intro. to social work...took as an easy A class; only male, and one of three white people in a class of 45 or so; all I can really recall was the teacher saying her daughter had just passed the bar. this was that class right after my snack time. Got an A.

criminology...theories of crimes, and there are a lot of theories; easy A, boring class. Got an A. became a cop a few years later after bailing on a gig I had as a teacher with an "alternative" certification. never reflected on that class to help me out. don't think it would've anyway.

I majored in 3 of those at some point or another, so imagine the kind of course I had to take. I think most of my gen ed. classes turn out to be a wast of time because I just found out I could have CLEP'ed out of them and got the credits.

I remember taking an into to religious studies class and asked a (pretty good, I think) question, the prof's answer was "well this is an introductory class and we don't look too deep into things."

Well they weren't all waste I guess since they keep the GPA up.

The entire class was a circle jerk of the hispanic students/the professor talking about how hard life is and how great they are at everything and how amazing their culture is. In Chicago where I am from I could maybe see their point- but I went to UofA in Tucson, Arizona...where the huge majority of the population is hispanic..so...
Chicago's Hispanic population is > 25%.....which probably equates to hundreds of thousands more in the chicago area than tucson. so im not quite sure what you are getting at.

I got to have one of my BS classes waived. My advisor said that I would have had to taken bowling or ballroom dancing or I could get it waived. Later found out this prevented me from getting honors which is pretty ironic. You need so many hours to qualify and because I didn't take the BS class I didn't get it.

Unfortunately, my college only offers a general theatre major that doesn't allow you to specialize. As such, and actor like myself was forced to take Basic Stagecraft and Scenery and Lighting, neither of which I have a single iota of interest in. Not only that, but we used outdated drafting tecniques that nobody uses in the real world to do our design assignments. So not only was I learning about an aspect of theatre I didn't give a shit about, I had to learn obselete and rediculously tedious tecniques which were replaced by computers decades ago. And I'm taking them my senior year. I call bullshit.

What were your guys's most horseshit classes?
Wait, can we back it up? You majored in theatre and now you want to go to law school? I don't mean to be offensive or rude but that just sounds a little odd to me. Go for it if thats your ambition, but I think you will have an uphill application battle ahead of you.
1. My most bullshit class was either 'Paradigms in Physics' : a math-less course about the history of physics or 'Masters of Film": in which the prof showed Donald Sutherland films almost exclusively.

2. You can scoff all you want at the 'artsy' majors, but at theater and art schools you learn how to do some brilliant oral advocacy. Its all bullshit- but a good art school grad can make the bullshit look like edible gold.
edit: but you are right- it is an uphill application battle.

Computer concepts for end users. Teacher got pissed no one would stay for the full lecture so she gave a " fake review" then a break them waited til after to give the " real" review for those who stayed (she told the ppl who stayed her plan the previous week). Needless to say, this idiot told the class to review the wrong chapters and subsequently all of them did poorly in a bullshit class about using a fucking computer. One of the questions was "what is a computer". She never taught at my undergrad again after that semester though.

I took intro to Internet online one year. Our final project was to make a website using HTML, which I knew how to do proficientlt since grade 6 (1998). The final was surprisingly really tough though and was all about the physical characteristics of the Internet and really technical. Still got a b+ which shouldve been an A had I not missed the first assignment that required us to search "Tom Brady" on google and list the five websites that show up first,

I would trade my LLB for your Bachelors in World Coffee. (Just in case you are interested in practicing law in Mexico)

I took that class senior year. They recently started a broomball league at the ice rink near my place here in DC, so perhaps it will end up being a valuable life skill. In retrospect, I should have taken the Vineculture class.

i took a fluff course called aircraft design. you would think impressive-sounding high-level engineering courses are harder, but the only way you are going to be able to "design an aircraft" in one course is to fluff-ify the process. it mostly involved a few key equations, Lift/Drag ratio, etc. very fun course, even if i don't now feel qualified to start an aircraft manufacturing company.

much easier than the core sophomore/junior courses in my opinion!!

I wish wish wish that this was a single class with that title.

As for me, it's a toss up between badminton (which I'm still terrible at, by the way) and intro to American Politics which was taught at the level of a 6th grade civics course. The final had questions like "What are the three branches of the federal government?" This was at an Ivy League university.

I think as a rule any course title that ends with "and More" just has to be a BS class. I mean you're never going to hear of "Comparative Foreign Policies of Post-Soviet Governments...and More!" class.

Although it sounds fantastic.

"...and More!" classes are required by law to have alliterative titles, so they're sort of limited in what they can teach, anyway: only subjects that can be construed to start with the letter "M".

"Monkeys, Marbles..and More!" You try to teach monkeys how to play marbles basically. The "and More" usually refers to cleaning up after them.

lol..hope you didn't pay sticker.

for me.. every single one of my classes was "useless" (outside of MicroEcon) in that I learned nothing I didn't already know. I could have learned everything better on my own but then what would my ignorant teachers for a living? I always loved fucking with the braindead profs/other students in my sociology/philosophy classes so I guess they were useful in that regard.
