I only skimmed the thread, so someone might have mentioned it already.

You should see or read To Kill a Mockingbird. Atticus Finch is an excellent depiction of a great lawyer. A Dean at Penn yesterday actually cited him as someone who profoundly affected the way he thought about being an attorney.

I don't think you understand the point of a thread. It's not lawyers who inspire you.

Whatever tv show or movie will focus on a lawyer spending a ton of time reading and writing. Seriously, that would be the most accurate.

What about the movie Michael Clayton.

Liked how it ended, but I thought it's view of biglaw was pretty dark and depressing in some ways.

Er, of course you could be right; and I'm wrong all the time.

Though it seemed clear to me that To Kill Mockingbird depicts a lawyer's life and work. What's more is that it does so to a extent far greater than the Paper Chase, I think, a movie that the OP cited as of the kind he is looking for.

Devil's Advocate didn't seem realistic at all, being that it was a super natural thriller. I understand that the hero was a lawyer, but the weird demonic/Satanic stuff knid of clouded much of the movie for me in terms of realistic legal life. :)

...Well The Firm and Michael Clayton are possible. More so Michael Clayton.
