Fair enough. Somehow I just can't really imagine playing a computer game at this point in my life. Not that I'm above it. (No trust me really, if someone posted a photograph of my current living situation, you would know that I'm not above it.) I always sucked at them anyway.beach_terror wrote:Solution? Haha, I've since retired to console gaming. However, I'm nostalgic as a mofo - so I pretty much only play games from when I was kid. It sucks realizing that I'm getting too old for this shit.Bronte wrote:Fair enough. Somehow I just can't really imagine playing a computer game at this point in my life. Not that I'm above it. I usually win but sometimes I'll get paired up with a bunch of top typists who absolutely destroy me! Hopefully I won't get matched up against you

Re: Typing Speed Poll
This site is fun. I usually get from 70 to 90 wpm, depending on the complexity of the text. I think my actual typing speed is faster though, because I spend a few precious seconds on reading and worrying about the displayed text. Nervousness stemming from wanting to be perfectly correct also interferes with my performance. Normally a word like "interview" would flow effortlessly from my fingertips, but I spelled it incorrectly multiple times when it came up on the prompt, and each erroneous attempt multiplied my anxiety. (I was doing line-by-line btw)

I've actually gotten quite a bit faster in the 3 months since I started that thread. I'm averaging in the 61-64 range now with 94-97% accuracy. Every now and then I'm breaking 70.Flips88 wrote:Cool and original thread, bro

I never really used it until working at my internship and I must say I like it way better than Office.bk187 wrote:Fuck WordPerfect and fuck the fact that the legal field has such a boner for it.Bronte wrote:There's attorneys where I work that hunt and peck (while using WordPerfect of course, despite the fact that we have full Office 2010 suite), so I think we're doing pretty well.

Yeah what the hell is with WordPerfect? I'm working in a government office this summer and all the older people refuse to use MS Word. There is a battle raging between the young lawyers and the old lawyers about which to use. I tried to use WordPerfect and it is the same/worse than MS word, and the rest of the world uses Word, I don't get it.bk187 wrote:Fuck WordPerfect and fuck the fact that the legal field has such a boner for it.Bronte wrote:There's attorneys where I work that hunt and peck (while using WordPerfect of course, despite the fact that we have full Office 2010 suite), so I think we're doing pretty well.
Some of the older people in the office only know how to open documents saved on the server by opening WordPerfect then going file>open... and looking for the document.
