Actually, the opposite occurs most of the time. The dude probably just despises judges (who are really academics at heart) and other lawyers that make cops look like complete idiots in court.
Judges cite law review articles and pseudo-scientific "studies" all the time in order to justify their idiocy.Waaahhhhh I need a JD for a LE career, so I'll rebel against all of those dope-smoking judges who rely on student pieces, because that sure happens a lot. You really are a fucking toolshed bro.

Hate to tell ya ape .... In most departments, the first several ranks are all test based and after that ... those appointed positions are mostly about who you know and nothing else... The NYPD has a method for getting the Captains and DIs a degree through columbia to justify promotion up to chief.. No one will care about your JD, most of all a bunch of chiefs that can't stand lawyers to begin with...

Too bad, sounds like you would have fit right in.GrapeApe wrote:
A number of reasons.
First, I am opposed to the very idea of a "law review" AKA: "A platform for deranged radicals to try to introduce their asinine ideas into the law."
Second, the people who infest law review tend to be arrogant, pretentious, and elitist. I can't stand being around these people.
Third, the work/time commitment is absolutely insane. I have more important things to do.
Odd that you would continue to post advice to law students interested in becoming lawyers with the knowledge that your advice doesn't apply to them.Fourth, I have no intention of practicing law. I hate the "study" of law, dislike lawyers, and I am only here to get the J.D. so that I can advance my career outside the legal "profession." I'm just here for the lulz at this point.

LOL! at you telling me how police departments work, considering that I have spent the last 10 years in law enforcement. J.D.s are fairly common at the highest levels of command.Hate to tell ya ape .... What advice? Further, what makes you think that all law students are interested in becoming lawyers?Odd that you would continue to post advice to law students interested in becoming lawyers with the knowledge that your advice doesn't apply to them.
