That's what I usually hear. I just don't know what I'd do if I took a year off. I could keep working at the law firm I'm at right now, but I wouldn't be doing anything really life changing. How would I phrase that to the admissions committee in my request for deferred admission?

I'm in the middle of my year off and I regret every minute of it. I thought it would be fun to work and just relax a bit after four years of undergrad, but all I've done so far is work at my family's company and do very little traveling. Just not how I expected my time off to be spent.

I'll be 26. I'm really glad I took a few years off, mostly because I had no idea what I wanted from life when I graduated from college, but also because I didn't adapt to change so easily back then.

Your year off is what you make of it. I spent 1 year of my 2 years off traveling and doing different things... You just have to have the 'fuck it' mentality and just go.

I'll be 25 when I start. Definitely glad that I took a few years off after undergrad. Growing up and maturing as an individual and also being able to travel was a good experience.

Will be 22 starting, and already took a year off. Now that it's March and school begins in August...I feel like I want more time :/ There's definitely nothing wrong with taking a few years to work before law school.

I'll be 22 (going straight from undergrad- though I almost wish I was doing Teach for America or something for a few years). My friend, who is in my year but will not be 22 until August, actually got rejected from a school (even though she has great softs & competitive numbers for that school), and when she called the admissions office about it, they told her that her age "may" have had something to do with it. Weird huh? I don't feel like there is a huge difference between 21 and 22...

I'm 21 now but I'll be 22.. I graduated a year early and took a year off to work. Best decision I made! I don't feel as burnt out and I'm really ready to get back to school.. as lame as that sounds.

I know someone who graduated with their BA in 2007 and their JD in 2010, and they are now 25 and working at Wachtell.

I'll be 23.

Took a year off after undergrad and am really enjoying myself. I'm not doing anything life-altering, just taking some "me-time". I feel as though I am even more ready to get back to studying now.
