I had the Macbook Pro 13'' all through undergrad and will be buying the 13" Macbook Air for LS. Also, if Apple trends continue, we should see retina display in the Air this next release. And if that jacks up the price the non-retina display is still a great option. The Air's battery life is pretty phenomenal now, too.
