Re: Working 0L's: when are you quitting your job?
Working up until two weeks before orientation due to move. I am completely financially independent and need the money. Also, my employer gives bonuses August 1st of every year so I have to stick around for that.
They have had over a year's notice though...

≅ April 15th.
My husband's layoff notice has his last day listed as March 22nd, and mine should be about three weeks behind his.
Exactly the right amount of time I'll need to pack my things and move them into the street before school starts.

+1. Can't wait. I've told myself "this is the last summer I'll ever have" so many times in the past, but I always somehow end up with one more!AlanShore wrote:im leaving end of may. nice summer.

Same. I'm out somewhat towards the end of July, then hoping to move to a new city with a lease starting August 1.ironbmike wrote:Working as long as possible. Get a few more paychecks.

Re: Working 0L's: when are you quitting your job?
Memorial Day weekend (May 31) is my plan. I've already hit my 2 year savings goal so everything I make up until then can finance the summer of hobie. I haven't had a 2 month summer vacation since high school and so I'm looking forward to some extended downtime. I want to read, learn to cook some exotic meals, pick up some basic carpentry/home repair skills, go surfing, basically everything I won't have time for after school/legal career/family begins.

Me three...I also want to bank as much vacation as possible as they have to pay me out, so the longer I stay, the longer I get paid out in vacation days for days I don't work....BlueJeanBaby wrote:Exactly this. Plus I want to save as much as possible to put towards tuition. I'm moving early August so I'll have a week or two off before school starts to get used to the new city and relax.drive4showLSAT4dough wrote:Working at least to August 1st (because its a law firm and I will continue to be in touch through LS).

First of June, just so my resume can have that extra month on it. Plan on using the 3 months to travel a bit.

Re: Working 0L's: when are you quitting your job?
I have two jobs; a full time and a part time. I'm quitting my full time 7/26. With the part time, it depends on where I'm going. If I stay in the city I live in now, I'll probably end it mid-August. If I'm moving, I may not even ask for time during July and just quit at the end of June.

Re: Working 0L's: when are you quitting your job?
I'm leaving the second week of July which will give me a little over a month off. Mostly because I will be attending law school in a different state and want to move there at least 2 weeks before school starts to settle in. This will give me a little over 2 weeks to do nothing before I move. I need to save money too but the 2 weeks isn't going to break me it wouldn't have really increased my savings that much. I say enjoy as much time off as you can before law school.

Just gave my boss my four-week notice and it feels so good! Giving myself 1 week to move + 3 weeks to get acclimated/R&R. Whoop whoop!!

Re: Working 0L's: when are you quitting your job?
I posted about working up until the last minute but decided to take the summer off instead. I'm going to intern a day or two a week at the DAs office just for some exposure and visit my home town/family for a while. It will suck not having the extra income, but I think it will be worth it.

Done with job in June sometime, then roadtrippin out West for three weeks! Can't wait for a two month break from work and school. Also planning a SE Asia or SA backpacking trip for winter break.

Lease ends July 31st. Will most likely quit the week before, as I've got a huge trip to Vegas planned for the week before. If I move, I'll have a month off to relax and acclimate to the new city. If I don't move, I'll have two weeks left to enjoy my life.

Re: Working 0L's: when are you quitting your job?
I'm quitting my regular job in mid-July. I want to plan a vacation and take care of some personal business before I start at law school, and a month should be enough. My freelance job, on the other hand, I'm not planning to quit at all.

I'm going to quit before finals and start looking for a wife. No joke I hear law school is much easier when you have someone in your apartment doing the cooking and cleaning. Another motivating factor is that I don't want someone to marry me because of my money.

I worked in LS and plan to work PT and go to school FT. The school is cool with it. It wasn't hard to do both.

Same. August 9 for me as of now. That last 9 days of pay makes a huge difference in my moving expenses.ironbmike wrote:Working as long as possible. Get a few more paychecks.
