Do they teach you anything at that bank? Can't you crunch some numbers and realize that the expected return on your time and money investment at a T2 is worse than the expected return on stepping into traffic?

+1. Unless GS wants you to go to law school and is hinting promising to promote if you do so, don't risk it. Unless of course you're an idealist or something.

are you wanting biglaw? or do you want something like academia or clerking? i think your career goals in the legal field will help people give you advice

Take Goldman as long as you can hold onto it, and consider an MBA. They might even help pay for it.

The people I know who worked at GS pre-LS told me that GS wanted them to get JDs instead of MBAs. Not sure if that's a company-wide thing, but that comes from multiple sources (and they're summering at GS for 1L summer).

Wait, for what? For banking? This is a brokerage position.

No, to be associates or whatever they call them. Same as they would MBA students. They said top (LOL egregious NU trolling) law schools produce good analytical thinkers.

Basically they are just looking for smart people. Just like the banks hire english majors from ivy league undergrads and make them analysts.
