Yeah, law schools get that report, along with your LSAT band, your GPA %tile, etc.

I really hate how this data is even reported. The fact that LSAC is meshing up my BS in Economics with engineering degrees that average around 3 and liberal arts degrees that average around the upper 3.7/8 range... well, it's just stupid. Every college and degree is going to have remarkably different avg's (unless your just a liberal arts school), so ranking yourself among people who have harder or softer curves is just unfair.

Yeah! I think the GPA is MORE fair than that... just because regardless of difficulty, it is somewhat controllable-- you get as much as you give on an overall scale. And I mean.. for example, my boyfriend is a business major. He has to take all these hard math classes that I would fail instantly. I'm an english major, and while its easy for me-- he would completely fail at the first 30+ page paper on Shakespeare, Milton, or Chaucer. I do feel bad for the engineering or pre-med majors,... but thats because those majors set you up for a path much different than law school.

Doubt it will have any effect at all.. One of my undergrads has pretty low numbers and so far my cycle is going exactly as would be predicted, possibly better even.

I suspect the admission committee must, perhaps subconsciously, discriminate undergrad institutions to an extent. I mean, they are human too.

if two people are exact same in every respect in terms of numbers, qualifcations etc., and one's from an Ivy School, and one's from "Lame Duck University", who would you want at ur law school?
