I interviewed an applicant for an editing job once who showed up in a bikini covered by an extremely open weave crochet dress. It was sexy, and she looked good, but I didn't take her seriously at all. I mean, if the interview is for beach bartender, wear your bikini/thong. Otherwise, probably granny panties are the way to go. Or boxers if you're a dude.

It's only trashy if they can tell you're wearing it. Don't wear a black thong with white pants, for instance. And don't wear one if it's liable to ride up (shouldn't be a problem if you're appropriately dressed for an interview, but you never know on these internets.) It becomes....conspicuous.

If it's comfortable, then go for it. Interviews are stressful enough, so might as well go in wearing comfy clothes. Of course, if you spend the entire interview wondering if it's showing, then that's not going to help either. But I think the take home here is that if your interviewer's looking around there and not at your face, you may want to consider other options
