They said I'm in initial review and they'll let me know if anything is missing. And I'll hear in the next couple of weeks. Not really helpful.

Me waiting for this damn scholarship letter.
Seriously, just give me the zero like I know you will and let me just commit to NYU and be done with it.

I am complete and currently under review according to the financial aid office. That probably means that I will not hear anything this week.

I definitely know what you're feeling. Everyday is a struggle at this point.

Yeah, the answer didn't help me either :/. You had my info since the end of February! I need to know before the deadlines of other schools.

Is it possible to successfully negotiate scholarships with Columbia? NYU offered me 35k more, but I don't have very high hopes for a successful negotiation.

Does anyone know if there are any pics of the inside of Columbia housing - like the W 115th/116th apartments? Trying to gauge how much space there will be & what the furnishings are like

I would try asking in the "Columbia students taking questions" thread, someone there would probably be able to send you some or give you an accurate description? I haven't been able to find anything on the Columbia housing website.

Admitted without major scholarships, financial aid office is still reviewing my stuff. What is the maximum I can expect if I'm broke?
I'm assuming that whatever it will be, it probably won't approach even half tuition. Hence, my dilema: Is there any way to justify Columbia over NU at full scholarship, if the end goal is LA biglaw? I've been agonizing over this for a whole week now, and still can't decide. A poll I created on these forums tells me I'm insane to even consider turning down NU's freeride. What do Columbia admits think?

I think it's insane to turn down NU's full ride. Have fun in Chicago!!!
I'm jealous
I don't think I've seen anybody get higher than half-tuition without getting a Hamilton. There's not much on lawschoolnumbers.com

When will you call them AGAIN? I plan to call them to ask about the progress this Friday again after I called them last Friday. I hope I don't appear to be too pushy.

I am not sure. This is really frustrating and it is even worse that they send them snail mail.

Yeah, and they said my review is complete and I will get the letter soon. It's just they said late March or late April but with Columbia everything is always on the late spectrum lol

I visited two buildings but don't remember exactly which ones. I remember being pleasantly surprised by the size and amount of space (for NY)! I think each building lists whether or not it's furnished. I definitely saw one that was furnished and it seemed like there was still some space for a few of your own things if you wished.

Several students also told me that you can ask the super to remove some of the furniture from furnished apartments when you move in. They seem to be flexible on that.

Just got an email from the Financial Aid Office with my award (I'm in Canada for the summer). A big fat zilch.
I'm assuming this means I'm out for the Richard Paul Richman Fellowship too, though I haven't heard anything official about that.
It's been fun guys. I'll be downtown at NYU if you need me.
Anybody want to take over the OP of the thread? Anybody know how to do that?

Sorry to hear the disappointment. But hey that's a great moving forward to NYU!

Hey y'all, I don't know if you mentioned other deadlines when you called financial aid this week, but I called on Monday telling them my deadlines were coming up and was told I'm in initial review and the mailing could take weeks. I preemptively emailed them my other offers a few hours later and got an email with my award in it today. I don't know how/why the decision got so fast-tracked, but try referring to deadlines and see what happens.
