I think it's discouraged but not unheard of to negotiate, unless they literally just changed their rules to "No negotiating" and mean it. A lot of current students were talking about negotiating up when I went to ASW.dmc1275 wrote:No one has successfully negotiated up from a merit offer, right? Re: Michigan Class of 2020
FYI--
If y'all are coming to Preview Weekend, Phid House is throwing its semester party. There's also gonna be a wine-and-cheese event at the House for people who are interested in living there. The wine and cheese is from 7-9 and the party starts at 10. Phid has asked current students to share this information with admits because the materials you'll be getting from Admissions will say the party starts at 9 (and this is wrong).

One person on LSN reported a successful negotiation.brinicolec wrote:I think it's discouraged but not unheard of to negotiate, unless they literally just changed their rules to "No negotiating" and mean it. Hey y'all I will be at ASW this weekend and I am SOOOO excited. However, I'm also slightly shy and nervous so if anyone else is going to be there and wants to meet up so we aren't alone, message me!

I was a little apprehensive at berkeleys but immediately once I signed in I realized that there was no need to be nervous. I'm pretty good at just jumping into crowds of people though. Feel free to message me at anytime! Does anyone more familiar with AA want to organize a meetup?amberb94 wrote:Hey y'all I will be at ASW this weekend and I am SOOOO excited. You'll get reading for both the class you'll sit in on and the mock class. The observation class reading is optional, but someone will get called on for the mock class, so do the reading! (It won't be long, and Clark is not scary, but he is theatrical)xandra_v wrote:So is there any reading for Torts? Would hate to be unprepared

So the reading is provided in the registration folder only, and not ahead of time. Darn! Would have loved to get out of the waymina_ami wrote:You'll get reading for both the class you'll sit in on and the mock class. The torts reading is basically two paragraphs. The reading for the real classes is available with the Preview Weekend schedule on the admitted students website.xandra_v wrote:So the reading is provided in the registration folder only, and not ahead of time. Won't be there but my friend I stayed with last time has told me about Dom's (short for Dominick's), which is like right across the street from the school (basically, not exactly), and I've also heard about Ashley's a lot. I think someone said Dom's has good sangria or something. It's an Italian restaurant. Ashley's is an Irish pub and they also serve food.

Just got approved for an awesome but reasonably priced two-bedroom apartment half a mile from the law school (also half a mile from the bars)!
I'm reviewing the lease today. This is so exciting. I'm moving across the country. It's happening.

Re: Michigan Class of 2020
I'm leaving my house at 4:30am tomorrow for the airport. I'm going to be exhausted.
I can try and organize a meet up - would Saturday be okay since Michigan actually provides night events? Or after the house party?
PM your number and I can create a group text.
