It's good. I think it took me a little while to get into it. I wasn't really hooked for the first season (or at least most of it).
I got really into it after that though.

I like it because it's neither pro-police (like most cop shows) nor pro-criminal. It kind of shows how complicated, corrupt, and unjust urban life is/can be all around.

I mean, I think it's a good thing since the show touches on "controversial" things... Although I think some of the outrage white people have had (reviews and what not) is a little silly. I didn't really feel like the show was attacking white people.

I'll take my badge of shame then. I don't feel like I've been spoiled though because D&D/GRRM confirmed divergence in plotline/endings between the two...

Damn, that's commitment considering were not sure the books will ever be finished! I considered doing this, because books >>>> tv show, but it just seemed like giving up on the show entirely.

I'll start watching from (I've forgotten which season was my last) when George R.R. Martin dies. The very day. I'm not hardcore enough to wait until the manuscripts get published.
