It just seems like SUCH a commitment. I also haven't started it but want tobrinicolec wrote:I've been meaning to start The Wire too but haven't yet lol.Rigo wrote:I finished The Wire last night btw. That's my big unproductive accomplishment this waiters spring.

It's the best show you're afraid might start drama every time you mention itdietcoke1 wrote:need a new show in the meantime. gonna check out Dear White People since it got 100% on rotten tomatoes
It's good. I think it took me a little while to get into it. I wasn't really hooked for the first season (or at least most of it).brinicolec wrote:I've been meaning to start The Wire too but haven't yet lol.Rigo wrote:I finished The Wire last night btw. not sure if that's a good thing or a bad thing for a show lolDr.Degrees_Cr.Cash wrote:It's the best show you're afraid might start drama every time you mention itdietcoke1 wrote:need a new show in the meantime. gonna check out Dear White People since it got 100% on rotten tomatoes

I mean, I think it's a good thing since the show touches on "controversial" things... Although I think some of the outrage white people have had (reviews and what not) is a little silly. I didn't really feel like the show was attacking white people.dietcoke1 wrote:not sure if that's a good thing or a bad thing for a show lolDr.Degrees_Cr.Cash wrote:It's the best show you're afraid might start drama every time you mention itdietcoke1 wrote:need a new show in the meantime. gonna check out Dear White People since it got 100% on rotten tomatoes

I got really into it after that though.
I like it because it's neither pro-police (like most cop shows) nor pro-criminal. It kind of shows how complicated, corrupt, and unjust urban life is/can be all around.
+1 to the commitment thing. There are so many shows that I want to watch but I just don't want to get wrapped up in 5 seasons of it.guybourdin wrote:It just seems like SUCH a commitment. Damn, that's commitment considering were not sure the books will ever be finished! I considered doing this, because books >>>> tv show, but it just seemed like giving up on the show entirely.Monday wrote:I'm sorry, but you are not one of us if you watched any episode past the point the show goes beyond the latest book.Leliana wrote:I'm one of those book hipsters
