I don't know much about chromebooks but are they not compatible with the school's exam software?
Not completely sure but I thought i read in a thread awhile back that they weren't compatible. Guess more research would be good. I will retake my previous comment.
For you:
Northwestern Laptop Requirements

OOOhhh if only i had a vague idea of what I'm running. I think i was under the impression that Microsoft office wasn't compatible with a chromebook for some reason. THank you for that! (and you're welcome for the extra posts

Chromebooks will almost definitely not work with exam software or some of the things you may need for clinics.
I went with the surface pro 4 and I love it. The new keyboard is really good as long as you're on a table and I like the tablet functionality of it and the fact that I can remove the keyboard if I want.
My girlfriend has a yoga and it just never felt right as a tablet, it was always like it was a laptop first and foremost. The surface definitely gave a lot of attention to the tablet functionality. I find myself taking the cover off if I'm just surfing on my couch or something.
I'm not sure how well the keyboard will work for exams, but I'll probably leave the cover at home and bring a bt one if I find that it's difficult to use throughout the year

I second this. I got a MacBook Air for its lighter weight after having a MBP and I have all the ragrets. I don't even have enough storage for Sims on this thing. Might splurge and get a MacBook Pro before school starts bc this Air is causing me stress.

you mean you don't want to pay $400 extra for no useful ports and a shiny light up bar?? In all seriousness though I have the 2015 model and I'm so glad I bought it when I did. It's an amazing + fast computer, i highly recommend it

I have the newest version and I love it so much. It's quite fancy.

Most schools don't let you use them for exams (or so we were warned at UVA's ASW)

It's gimmicky and more expensive. Also may be an issue during exams (I know this is for the bar but could be a potential issue in LS

I have a mbp with the touch bar. It's pretty useless to be completely honest, unless some fan boy is crazy about the emoji bar. I like the keyboard though, I can still type pretty fast and it only took me very few days to get used to it when I got it.

The only people I think that should get the MBP w/ touch bar are people who heavily edit in many programs. Other than that, for the casual user it sucks

Does your girlfriend like the Yoga in general, though? After some comparison shopping it seems like my most likely buy at this point. I feel like it has just enough of what I need without giving me all the extras that I don't really care about (and therefore don't want to pay more for).
