RE: AUGUST 1 APARTMENT AVAILABLE TO SECURE NOW
Welcome Northwestern c/o 2020!
I hope to see many of you on-campus this weekend for Admitted Students Weekend!
I'm a soon to be 2L and for those of you who want to secure housing early, my apartment will be available August 1.
It's a 1-bedroom in East Lakeview (about 20-30 min to the law school by bus – close enough for convenience and far enough for sanity!) and a short walk to grocery stores, the lake, and Wrigley Field. There's a gym and laundry in the building and parking is available. Rent is $1315.
Here is the Craigslist posting: https://chicago.craigslist.org/chc/apa/6077317003.html
For more details, feel free to reach out to me at nicolesteinberg2019@nlaw.northwestern.edu.

I'd rather negotiate face to face or over email instead. I just don't want them to reconsider at a minimal increase after I fill out the form and then not negotiate because I already filled out the form.dietcoke1 wrote:I love when schools have a form like this. it signals that clearly their is a negotiation process instead of being like "wth we would never negotiate" crap some schools try to pulljjcorvino wrote:Just as an FYI, I got a response to my scholarship email directing me to their scholarship negotiation form. This form also really forces your hand. It asks an essay question where you have to explain why you would choose NU if they match. So you are limited by your other offers.GamecocksDT wrote:I'd rather negotiate face to face or over email instead. Re: Northwestern Pritzker - Class of 2020
In my experience (not with NU, but with every school) you never actually get to "negotiate". I've exchanged e-mails with everyone from the person I interviewed with to the assistant dean and they've always received my initial e-mail, which was more or less my whole spiel, and then they've asked similar types of questions about what I've said, and then they've ended with letting me know my request will be sent to a "committee" and then the committee comes back and that's it. You get to do that same initial request here, and I am sure if they have questions, they'll ask (because the form says if they have questions they'll ask). So I just see this as serving to let everyone know they don't care how much money you got from Minnesota or Emory, which makes sense, because I probably would have mentioned a full ride to Minnesota otherwise!GamecocksDT wrote:I'd rather negotiate face to face or over email instead. Anyone know how long it takes to get a response to the scholarship negotiation form? I feel like I read somewhere that it takes a week but at this point it's been a week for me and silence... So now i'm wondering if i just made up the week deadline in my own head :p

@guybourdin I think we should designate you to pick a place tonight since you seem familiar with the area. Plus we all seem very indecisive on where to go loldclaw93 wrote:Me too. Lol.dietcoke1 wrote:In here as wellguybourdin wrote:I'm waiting for fin aid to start.

Re: Northwestern Pritzker - Class of 2020
I'm not really too familiar with the area. 2000 asked in the current students thread and someone said we should take a cab 5-15 min north, which would also be my suggestion. If most of you are at hotels in the area I can understand why you might not want to do that. Like, bars in old Town aren't that great in my experience, but if we're trying to get a dozen people around a table then walking around there might be the way to do it.dietcoke1 wrote:@guybourdin I think we should designate you to pick a place tonight since you seem familiar with the area. Suggestion: meet in the courtyard around 5:05-5:10 and walk over to dinner together.
