Good point. Would love for it to happen Wednesday, but emotionally prepared for Friday. Expecting this week for real this time.

the tweet definitely says this week. that would be cruel if they didn't release them til April. I have a deposit deadline on Saturday!

Hey guys - welcome to Northwestern! I'm a graduating 3L looking for someone to take over my lease come May 15th. My studio apartment is in Gold Coast, would come fully furnished (so no need to buy your own furniture), and is about a 20 minute commute to school (public transport slightly shorter). 22 and 36 are literally outside my doorstep, red line is 1.5 blocks away. Building is great.

I was just invited to the diversity day before ASW...but I can't actually figure out in what way I am diverse. I checked no boxes indicating any kind of diversity. Was this invite just extended to everyone? (I am several years out of undergrad, but I would have thought that would be within the realm of "unremarkable" at NU of all places.)

I think everyone got it. I'm as white as it gets, from a middle class family, and have college educated parents. That's the description of 90% of the midwest region.. I don't know why they would invite everyone though. Whole thing is a little weird.

Diversity is meant to be promoted across all spectrums, don't be so naive because you're vanilla AF (maybe pun intended). In order for diversity to exist, and be more widely recognized and appreciated, people who are apart of the majority are encouraged to participate...

Reiterating what the previous poster said in a slightly different way, it's great that the email said the director's role was diversity education as well! But I would also assume that another reason they sent it to everyone is because they also want to reach people who, for whatever reason, did not check the various boxes during the application process. It would suck if there had been only one opportunity to self-identify.

Diversity Days at NU undergrad have been exclusive events, so I don't appreciate you calling me naive, when I have first hand experience of diversity days not including vanilla AF people. Some people, like me, come from different backgrounds, where they aren't used to getting invited to things like this. Diversity events in high school (in the midwest) were also exclusive minority events. Would have appreciated a bit more tact on your end.

Also, good catch Blue664. I didn't notice the director's title was diversity education and outreach. I imagine that would suck if there was only one opportunity to self-identify, and you missed the boat.
