I'm assuming this means I'm out for the Richard Paul Richman Fellowship too, though I haven't heard anything official about that.

It's been fun guys. I'll be downtown at NYU if you need me.

Anybody want to take over the OP of the thread? Anybody know how to do that?
That doesn't give me much confidence :-/. You have same GPA, a bit lower LSAT (I don't think it matters when you get that high), but stronger softs.

How is the offer? happy with it?
It wasn't zero, but I got twice as much from Chicago so it's way too low for me to keep considering Columbia. I didn't show my hand with *all*my offers though, so I'm thinking about updating with other offers and seeing what happens.

Has anyone attempted to negotiate with Columbia yet? If so, have you received a response of any sort?

Just got my financial aid offer via email. $60,000 grant and some loans. With NYC Big Law as the goal, think I'm gonna take it over better offers from Michigan, NU, and Duke. I called on Monday, was told they were still reviewing my information, and requested they email it to me since I am in Asia. There's still hope people.

Oh crap, I am going to be out of town the next two weeks, I should call and let them know to email me instead.

Thanks for the perspective! I called today and was told my application was in final review. Just curious, what other offers did you email them? I have decent offers from Michigan and NYU, but Michigan is significantly higher than NYU, and am trying to decide if I should just email them Mich's for now. I'm still trying to get NYU to take the bait and increase their offer, and I don't want to get low-balled by Columbia in the interim, particularly since I haven't seen their offer yet!

Also, I straight up just asked the person I spoke to if they could email me the offer since I have upcoming deadlines and she said they'd be happy to do so. No need to invent business trips or anything like that to get them to switch from snail mail to email.

I called and also asked for my award to be emailed instead of sent by snail mail and they said they were happy to do so.

I am not sure. This is really frustrating and it is even worse that they send them snail mail.
I called again and it's a different person answering the phone. She's very nice and friendly. :)
Hopefully I'll hear from them next week. She said mail and scan a copy.
Idk, she said also email even before I asked them to. Maybe it's because it's getting late so they want to speed things up too?

Is it weird to call and ask to email even though I called yesterday?

Did they tell you when you may get the decision? Maybe you can call them early next week? Or just call them and say "sorry I called yesterday but can you just email it to me? yadayada"

Unexpectedly received my award letter via email. I'm in NYC and called them on Monday. Did not ask to have it emailed so it was nice they did it anyway.

Can't remember exactly. I was on a plane from San Francisco and got it when I landed.

The offer was pretty much exactly what I wanted in order for me to say yes. A smidge below NYU but not enough to make me want to be in the Village.

Last week I was told my application and file is complete and I will hear back soon. I called yesterday and was told that my application is still under final review. Ugh.

Seriously? What are you waiting for?
