I genuinely thought that was the norm for most schools. Like it didn't even strike as something that was odd. Lol but either way, Im really not bothered at all by it. It's a short drive w/ no traffic.Keilz wrote:How do you all feel about the fact that most people drive to school?

Re: Duke Law Class of 2020
I've heard there are PLENTY of social events and bad reviews and such. Absolutely no one at ASW mentioned a boring social life. A lot of people said they had too much fun. It's basically a college town. No need to worry about thatKeilz wrote:Like no social events held at the law school, bars, etc.proteinshake wrote:what do you mean?Keilz wrote:But what about socially?proteinshake wrote:not a big deal at all since you won't have traffic. Im a 2l. There is an inordinate amount of social events. You can find law students drinking every night of the week if you wanted (don't advise doing this). I rather drive 3 minutes than be on the metro for 30 every day of the week.Keilz wrote:Like no social events held at the law school, bars, etc.proteinshake wrote:what do you mean?Keilz wrote:But what about socially?proteinshake wrote:not a big deal at all since you won't have traffic. It's a small City so it's not like we won't ever hangout. Also I miss driving so much now that I'm in a city that functionally prohibited owning a carKeilz wrote:How do you all feel about the fact that most people drive to school?

Thank you so much! Also, I'm silly - I stopped checking the admitted students website after ASW, but it looks like there's information there! We can buy parking permits starting June 21.thatblondegirl wrote:I remember reading something that said we would automatically be enrolled into the university's insurance mid September if we hadn't opted out. You can start buying parking passes July 15th. However, I'm a 0L so take everything I just said with a grain of salt.Blue664 wrote:Lol okay okay, just did! I'll do a lot for you guys, but I won't Google "Duke Law tuition" (well, I will to make sure it's really that easy; I just won't post the resulting link)chargers21 wrote:What's Duke's tuition for this fall? I can't remember

So looks like June parking will open up.Blue664 wrote:+1, also wondering about parking and insurance, etc.Dr.Degrees_Cr.Cash wrote:So once we put down a deposit are we like, done?
I have set up my email and everything but I'm curious how things like parking permits and insurance works. Is that all at orientation or will we get info in the summer (or am I totally missing something?)
I'm not sure if I have any action items still
Do we need to do anything to accept loans right now?
I remember hearing about getting a full aid package in the summer and there was nothing more to do on the financial front until then.

Received a small bump in aid this morning, which tipped the scales in favor of Duke. Submitted my seat deposit a few minutes ago, see you all in the Fall!

It was super variable by section. One section had classes 8a-12:30p. One had something like 8a-9a, 11a-12:30p, 3:30p-5p (essentially).JustWannaGraduate wrote:Can any current students post what their 1L schedule looked like? AKA days/times for class. Can't seem to find a sample sched and I'm curious

Re: Duke Law Class of 2020
Looks like $61k tuition + $1,287 in fees = $62,287 total for 2017-2018. This seems to be about $2300 more than fees/tuition for 2016-2017. Can we expect that kind of increase (3-4%) every year?chargers21 wrote:What's Duke's tuition for this fall? I can't remember
