I'm at like 85% Duke if I can get them to match my UM scholly. Still waiting on Gtown and Berkely money, though, and admissions decisions from Chicago, UVA, and NYU. A lot of pieces still in play, but I'm happy with current options

Is anyone actually excited to start LS? Like...it's gonna suck and everything but, as an older applicant, I'm kind of excited to go back to school/start a career. I know this is probably some serious 0L naivete but whatever.

I'm actually pretty excited. The idea of moving in general is exciting to some degree for me so that adds to it. I'm also finishing undergrad now and finally getting around to all the classes I need to take that just sounded super boring/pointless. Apparently I was right, they're awful and I can't wait to study something I actually find interesting again (even if I know the work is going to suck).

I'm extremely excited, but also absolutely terrified. I hate my job, but I'm objectively very good at it. Its terrifying to walk away from something that is stable even if it doesn't really have much upside.

Yeah, that's probably a better description of how I feel, excited/terrified. I am in the same position with my job (though not being able to think about anything but law school is making me slightly worse at it...). And I definitely have this exaggerated anxiety that I'm going to get to law school and be at, like, the bottom of the class and find out that I'm actually dumb.

This is my biggest fear! I have a stable job that I'm pretty good at (though...it's not hard so that's not saying much). I'm never going to make a ton doing what I do but I could get up to 60k/year (which is possibly equal to or even low than my PI salary will be also) which is more than enough for me to live comfortably with my boyfriend's income included. It's a big risk walking away.

Everytime I get scared to take the leap I try to imagine myself 15 years from now if I didn't go to LS and I realize that I would inevitably spend the rest of my life regretting the fact that I didn't go.
