To The Class of 2020:

Many of you do not know me, but I wanted to take a moment and send a quick message to all of you.

Several years ago, I was in the same situation you now find yourself in. I was about to start law school. Looking back, I didn't have a clue what I was getting myself into. At times I was nervous, excited, scared, confident, depressed, and questioned whether I really wanted to do law school. If you are experiencing any of these or other emotions, I assure you they are normal. You are starting down a new and life changing path. An array of emotions is normal. Plus it is far too early to quit this richly rewarding experience you are beginning.

Law school will change the way you think, the way you write, and the way you see the world. You will never look at things the same again.

Every aspect of life is touched upon by the law in some way or another. Soon, you will be learning things you never knew or even thought of before. You will also grasp a more detailed understanding on topics of law that you think you already know.

It isn't easy. If it was easy, everyone would do it. I personally feel that practicing law is a privilege. You are on your way to earning that privilege.
