I may have audibly laughed when a girl said she was from Hyde park (in a British accent.)poptart123 wrote:I wish the next person would have paid him homage and said they are from like Idaho or somethingcurry1 wrote:Lmao, someone should have asked how living in England was.LSRAT wrote:Lol at the guy who had to say he was from Cambridge when asking a question.

Re: UChicago Class of 2020
So to get the $$ reconsideration form we have to request it right? I'm wondering if I should send my "ask" in that email or if I should save it for the email that submits the form.
What does the form say? Is is just "list your other offers plz."?

Drop in employment numbers makes Chi only .5% above Duke in biglaw+clerkship numbers

That's a weird takeaway from the numbers. Isn't it just as accurate to say "drop in employment numbers still keeps Chi 4%+ above Stanford in biglaw+clerkship numbersdasq5511 wrote:Drop in employment numbers makes Chi only .5% above Duke in biglaw+clerkship numbers![]()

It's not a weird takeaway when Duke is much cheaper...cheaptilts wrote:That's a weird takeaway from the numbers. Re: UChicago Class of 2020
Has anyone heard back re: scholarship reconsideration? I know at ASW they said they would just start considering requests this monday. I have scholarship deadlines coming within the next week and I am not trying to give ~1000 dollars away to other schools just to preserve my options.

Re: UChicago Class of 2020
Hey all! Congrats on your admits
I'll be posting this on your 2020 admitted students/ class of 2020 fb page too, but some of you are early birds so I thought I'd mention it here also:
I'm a 2L/soon to be 3L; my partner and I just bought a really nice condo a couple blocks from the law school, and we're renting out the bedrooms to law students. If your personality is that you wanna live with most of your class, the Regents/Shoreland thing is a great first year option; if you're a bit more low key and want to be super close to the school in a nice place with just a few people, shoot me a pm.
Here are some details:
About me: I'm an active 2L; on the board of ACS, OUTlaw, and If/Wheb/How: Lawyering for Reproductive Justice. I'm heading to litigation at a big Chicago firm; my partner works in consulting downtown.
The rooms are furnished; it's a 2-floor big condo. Full access to everything including kitchen, laundry room, bathrooms etc; 3 bathrooms so you'll have it pretty private/no waiting for showering and such. I have some gated parking available (we don't use a car so we're happy to rent our spot).
Anyways, price range is $600-$900 depending on which room you want (they vary in size pretty significantly). Utilities will all just be split by the number of people living there. Lastly, personality-wise, people who tend to like a cleaner space are a really good fit here; we're not perfect, but we like to keep the common areas really nice.
PM me if interested and I'll be happy to send you pictures; also happy to chat, and also answer any general LA questions you might have.
Congrats and welcome!
