yes, definitely. And it seemed like he was probably more open (/vulnerable) on here than he was in his day-to-day. losing that anonymity could be scary I guess

I'm not too worried about being outed because I think I've generally been pleasant on the forum. Plus, anonymity wasn't really on my mind when I joined so my username is basically my name anyway lol

Yeah I feel like by posting regularly, to some extent you assume the risk of being outed. So the two main strategies would then be to 1) moderate what you say/make sure you're okay with saying it in a relatively public forum or 2) give zero personal info in the hope that no one can out you.
