You have to have your umich email before you can join (so you have to have deposited). I ended up having to list it as my secondary email on FB before it would let me join; it wouldn't ask me to just insert it on its own.

It only has six members right now, which is hella sad. So plz join!

Anyone planning to use federal loans to pay for summer tuition, Dean Stetson said we'll be getting an email by the end of next week telling us how to apply for our loans. She also said that we should apply by mid-May.

My understanding is Michigan's LRAP is pretty good. I know one of the summer starters on the Ask A Wolverine page (on Michigan's website) wasn't offered any aid but has been getting scholarships elsewhere/taking jobs on-campus to help reduce his debt.

Anecdotal at best, but financial aid told me last year to calculate a 3% increase per year.

Yeah, that'd be pretty nice. I'm assuming $30k a semester for my calculations and hoping that will be a little high. Baring a scandalous tuition hike $180K shouldn't be off the total bill for three years in Ann Arbor by more than a few percent.

Figured I'd come through with a few reminders:

• The seat deposit deadline is THIS SUNDAY. It is the ONLY deposit required for summer starters and can be paid online via the ASW.
  Once you have a Michigan email (and it's connected to your FB account), feel free to join the Summer Starters FB. I'm an admin so feel free to message me if you're having problems.
  I've started a Michigan TLSers GroupMe. It's a good way to get to know people outside of your section/super-section/fall starters, especially for those of you who might be a little shy. If you're interested in joining it, you can send me a PM with your phone # and your actual name (or stay anonymous if you'd feel more comfortable that way for now and I'll put you in as your TLS name).
  Lastly, we're a little more than a month away from orientation!!!!
