FYI, I emailed student affairs and confirmed that first year students are not allowed to work. You can get a petition to allow you to work a small amount.__blah wrote:mikmn wrote:Is working during your first year prohibited? Or is it just discouraged?
I think both. I wouldn't want to risk it with grades being so important.

For those of you who sent their photographs to the School did you get an email in return acknowledging that they received it?? I sent her an email last week and haven't heard anything back.__blah wrote:Has anyone sent in their ID picture yet ? trying to see how the process went

Well so far the process has been I sent an email with my picture and radio silence on their end. If I haven't heard back by next week I'll email or call to verify they got it.thelostweasley wrote:Let me know how the process goes! No problem! Just making sure did you send it to lindseym@law.ufl.edu? That's the correct email. A different email was listed on an earlier version of the checklist which has since been corrected.Sonar80 wrote:Thanks for the response.medtolaw wrote:Yes, it took about a week for her to get back to me.Sonar80 wrote:For those of you who sent their photographs to the School did you get an email in return acknowledging that they received it?? We could pick some top UF alumni and vote for our favorite. Or we could vote for most inspirational, or the one we would most like to be, etc.thelostweasley wrote:Alright, folks. It's gotten way too quiet ITT. Think it's time for a new poll!
Suggestions?
There's a pretty good list here: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_L ... _graduates
I'll go ahead and nominate a few to get the ball rolling, but it would be great to get some other suggestions.

I've been on vacation, I'll come back with some ideas. I did hear back from both the student ambassador (very nice person) and the lady that does the pictures, she acknowledge receipt and that's about it.

Lol, don't worry about it, yours is funny. Mine's only really interesting if a bunch of people have strong opinions on the alumni.thelostweasley wrote:Sorry, forgot about this and I just changed it! I remember undergrad preview was all about the school spirit. My guess is ILSP will be more subdued. I'm not sure how the older second career people would react to a day of random chanting and singing.

Re: UF Law Class of 2019
I'm back!! I did a little research while I was gone and found out that John Marshall Bar Association is essentially the 'social/drinking club.' It sounds like a good time, they have a Law School Prom, a halloween party, the Woodser and some other social events. I'm pretty interested, and all of my alumni friends have said it's worth the money for the three years of membership. Any one have any different observations?thelostweasley wrote:Hope you're having a great vacation, Sonar!!Sonar80 wrote:I've been on vacation, I'll come back with some ideas. I've made the same observations and have been told the same by alumni. I'm not much of a drinker, but am looking forward to attending a few eventsSonar80 wrote:I'm back!! [quote="thelostweasley"]Check your email inbox/spam folder! I got an email stating that they changed the procedure for submitting your final undergrad transcript.
If you have already submitted your final undergraduate transcript to LSAC, it is no longer necessary to also submit your transcript to UF Graduate Admissions.[/quo
AHHHHHH!! Dammit man, they do all the catching up to 2016, AFTER I've done all the work to get my stuff turned in on time (or early)!!

Looks like a great way to meet some people! Can anyone join? All I can find is a site from 2010 advertising membership dues for $90, and the blurb on the UF law extracurricular organizations page.Sonar80 wrote:The wife is already pretty stoked on LS Prom and the Halloween thing.
