I submitted an on-campus housing application pretty late (like 2-3 weeks ago), took about a week for them to get back to me.
What day did you get your decision? They told me they release results weekly.

On a Tuesday. Looking back at my e-mails it was 5 days after they received my application.

Nah. 2 years ago it was August 10th so I think we have to wait a while more.

Anyone been able to get a copy of the textbooks we need for our courses yet? I tried using the bookstore thing and it just told me the list should be available 2 weeks before classes start.

I already got all of mine so not sure what's up with yours? Make sure you have the term and N number right I guess?

Do you mean for on-campus housing? I remember reading that as long as you have checked in you can start receiving mail/packages, but anything received prior to check-in is returned.

Thanks, that's what I meant. Didn't mean to assume everyone was living in the dorms.

Wait we can get rid of the mattresses? I thought we weren't allowed to remove any of the furniture.
I'm trying to figure out where I can store the chair they provided because I definitely want to replace it with something a bit more comfy...

For those who have already moved into law school housing, did you need your NYU id to do so or could you just get that afterwards?

You can get it after. The only thing they needed was a driver's license.

I'm definitely trying to get rid of my chair too. I think I'm gonna use it in the kitchen as an extra chair for the table. As for the bed, there must be a way to get a bigger bed in there...

IME, Mercer people generally ask sanother mercer resident to "hold onto" their bed for the year (and some people generally are interested and happy to do so because they can create a make-shift double bed). This frees you up to then bring in your own bed.

Orientation is coming up and didn't see dress code mentioned anywhere. Anyone know if we're supposed to be in suits?

If we are, they're gonna be real upset when I show up in a t-shirt.

lol if you're in a fucking suit, and its not because you have a valid reason for doing so, you're doing 1L wrong.
Seriously? What are you waiting for?
