**please dont quote**

Just noticed that I hadn't selected Berkeley as one of my schools on need access, and then when I went to try to fix it and add the school, I couldn't find it on the list. Does Berkeley still require need access, and if they do, was everyone able to find the school on the list in their application?

Really hope this doesn't screw me over for need aid, because that's about my only chance to attend =/

Yes, I believe they require need access. I was able to find the school on the list. Maybe double check how you're searching for the school?

Did you look for University of California? I think I had trouble finding Berkeley on there the first time because I was looking for Berkeley (so in the B section) rather than University of Cal (U section). Hope that helps!

Apparently I enjoy torturing myself, so I decided to read the Berkeley class of 2018 thread. My God it was chaos. It seems like we wont hear money for awhile and that is completely nerve racking given the deadline for most schools to send in a deposit is coming up. I know Berkeley doesn't require money for the first round, but other schools do.

Here's to hoping they are more efficient with their awarding process this year

Well, according to what they said at ASW they should have started making offers this past week- but to my knowledge nobody's heard anything yet. Hopefully it'll happen soon though- I just want to be able to make a decision already!

Really wish I hadn't read the Class of 2018 thread.. You're right, it was chaos^ I really hope Berkeley doesn't wait until April to start issuing awards.

The letter said that they expected to release all decisions today, but guess not. Hopefully we hear good news on Monday :)
It's pretty strange that they haven't met their self-imposed deadline. I'm hoping that they'll extend the deadline for accepting the offer a bit as a result though. But in the mean time, I'm all for entertaining conspiracy theories as to why they're taking so long...

They have your congratulations letter all ready to go, it's just waiting for the dean's signature

Given the email we just received, you should be getting it soon

I just spoke to the financial aid department on the phone and they said that scholarship info will start coming out when we hit 180 posts. (Come on guys, we passed last year's date for the first scholarships and nobody else is freaking out?)

They said at ASW that some people had already received scholarship information

Really? I didn't hear that and nothing is on LSN. When did they say it? I'm wondering because that was forever ago; I was under the impression that when there are waves of scholarships at a school like Berkeley, there will be a breadcrumb trail of celebration and neurotic speculation on the internet.

This wait is killing me :?

Edit - also did not hear them say that at ASW (but went to the first fin aid panel so that would explain it)

During the Financial aid information session in the afternoon on the second day, one of the panelists said that a handful had received and been notified about Dean's grants. Most people were more concerned with matching scholarships in the info session though, so it was somewhat glossed over.

It was during one of the financial aid breakout sessions. They said only 15 people had gotten notifications, although you would think that at least one of these people would say something...

I was told by admissions the first offers were supposed to start coming out early last week. Did y'all send in your apps early on?
