Where did you end up?

Georgetown. DC is the center of everything in the country that matters, so of course I'm going to the best school in DC. Also, have you SEEN the student rec center?!

George Washington. Georgetown is great, but G-Dub is in Foggy Bottom and I'd like to eat at ShopHouse as often as humanly possible.

Vanderbilt. Georgetown is too big, and I need to live in a city with actual barbecue.

UCLA. I don't understand why people would voluntarily go to law school somewhere that has winter.

Northwestern. I needed a school that was more business-minded, and also one that has buildings that don't remind me of the USSR.

What's our take on this 4/1 deadline as far as how binding it is...?

I understand it's an end to negotiability, but is it a stronger commitment to attend than, say, a regular deposit? is it inappropriate to lock in the scholarship offer, "commit" to enroll, and continue negotiations/hold out on responses from other schools?

I did not get the feeler but I did email them and ask for scholarship consideration
Around what date did you ask for scholarship consideration/receive the response that it had been received?
2/29, got receipt confirmation same day.
Do they assume people don't want consideration otherwise? Georgetown probably wasn't going to be something I was going to consider regardless, but now I have to send an email above and beyond all the financial aid forms they wanted to get put in the pile? What a waste of my time.

No it is not inappropriate. Several people did so last year.

Did anyone hear from the financial aid office yet?

And seriously stressed about this April 1st deadline, especially since I haven't heard back from my top pick yet.

Thanks.

Also - is there a consensus as to how long we should hold off (or should we?) before trying to negotiate the offer?

DId anyone else get a feeler email back in Feb and then not receive a scholarship email today (saw that a bunch went out)? Getting annoyed if there truly is a 4/1 deadline and I'm going to have less than two weeks to decide.

Don't wait. It took m often up to a week to reply last time. Don't be shy, just ask m for more. They're expecting you to do so.

I think there's a specific email for admitted students. hotline@?

Also - anyone receiving scholarships today admitted after 2/15?
Yes! I just emailed the hotline

I got the feeler email, but I've not received anything today. It's really disappointing.

Are these letters via USPS or emails? My impression is that the scholly offers are physical letters

Came home to find a package in my mailbox from GULC. Thought it may be scholly but it was just an admissions book. Anyone else get the book?

This April 1st thing is hard to comprehend. Is this standard practice for GULC or a new tactic? I figured I'd read through 2018 thread but if anyone knows that would be helpful.

Guessing they're doing this in waves...? More tomorrow? Right? RIGHT?????
Did any of yall make a super greedy request? I'm wondering if they sent me to purgatory for asking for full tuition.

I think I asked for half. That was probably way too aggressive for my stats. :)

Still nothing. I guess they're done for the day?

I did, and am very grateful to have received a scholly today but will definitely need much more to make attending a possibility

I think I was way too coy about my request, I tried to hint at full tuition without saying it but to no avail
