Re: Senioritis / Quitting-my-job-soon-ioritis
If my bosses don't hire someone and give me enough time to train them, they are in for a very rude awakening. My list of things isn't too long, but the specificity with which I do them is incredibly important to making this entire firm run smoothly.
Fortunately, I actually like training/teaching, and even if I didn't it would still be a welcome change of pace from the monotony of the last few weeks.

What does it say??
Show up.
Don't kill anyone.
Do something productive.
Did I get it right? hahaha
But all jokes aside, when my replacement started riding around with me a little about a month ago, he said, "Holy shit man, I didn't have any idea you did all this!! I thought your job was pretty cut and dry, but now I'm seeing you really do work your ass off!!"

Re: Senioritis / Quitting-my-job-soon-ioritis
Yeah, I was very lucky in that my immediate supervisor knows what I do and how important it is to get RIGHT every single time. He had to go to HIS boss and work his ass off to convince him that I needed time to train my replacement. Apparently my boss had to fight with his boss just to get what precious little time we did get. Apparently his boss thought it would work out just to send the replacement in the day after I left and he could just pick up where I left off.Bearlyalive wrote:If my bosses don't hire someone and give me enough time to train them, they are in for a very rude awakening. Well, one of my jobs is running our master calendar, so when things go to hell everyone usually looks at me first. Fortunately most of the office realizes I'm very competent, but that doesn't mean I don't have to dig through old emails on a fairly regular basis to justify how/why something was calendared (or, more importantly, why it wasn't).

Re: Senioritis / Quitting-my-job-soon-ioritis
At this point most of the other people in the office are too terrified to touch the calendar. It's nice because I don't have to deal with BS like the above, but also terrible because it means more work for me when they send things to me to add that they really ought to be able to do themselves (that is, the paralegals, not the attorneys). There's way way way too much crap on there for me to keep track of everything anyways, which I make abundantly clear to the attorneys.

At some point this week, I became nocturnal. What's the best way to fix this? Just stay up for like 30 hours, right?

Yeah. You have to do a forced restart (or at least that is what I have to do).

Quick. Take this quiz. I'm Tyrion. (Apologies if we've been through this I was asleep all day).

..... I think this quiz missed the mark for me.You are Petyr Baelish, aka Littlefinger. You are strategic, slippery and good with finance. There isn’t a thing going on in the company you don’t know about, and you find ways to profit from all of them. Nobody really likes or trusts you, and you treat your subordinates as disposable pawns in your quest for executive power.

Given Jon Snow's luck as a leader, I'm a bit nervous. You are Jon Snow. You are honorable, strong-willed and trustworthy. Your subordinates, other than a few more experienced hands, mostly look up to you, but you can be short-sighted and naïve, and your tenacious loyalty can prevent you from moving up the corporate ladder.

You are Tywin Lannister. You are shrewd, strategic and forward thinking. Your employees fear your stern reviews, but they respect you and appreciate that your group often racks up the best results each quarter. Your fearsome style alienates some of the more creative, sensitive employees in the company.

lmao was looking at posts and thought "Damn, these people are active, so many posts and it's still so early...." nope, its FRIDAY, not Thursday, this was all from yesterday lol
Morning folks, so far in my first hour of work I have made a birthday card for my boss, but we have not color printers so it will be black/white/gray :/ kinda disappointing but oh well, gunna prob give it to them again on Monday after hopefully being able to print it in color at home (despite rarely having color ink)

Jaime Lannister
You are Jaime Lannister. You are arrogant and aloof, and you possess a cutting wit. While you prefer to focus on your own contributions rather than lead, you step up when the situation calls for it and have your own unique code of honor that sometimes deprives you of companywide respect and praise.
