Anyone have a room selection slot for the dorms who isn't planning on living there and wants to reserve a room for me?

I just booked one of the last rooms in North Hall.
I was wondering, does anyone know whether they clean your bathroom..?
I would doubt it, but since it's a dormitory I thought we might have janitors

Not in North because it's in your room. They do in the Grope.vhvh0806 wrote:I just booked one of the last rooms in North Hall.

Got a room in Dane this morning! Maybe a future poll could be where we're all living, with options as each residence and various areas in cambridge/boston

Third floor Shaw! I'm also in favor of a residence poll.

Which of the neighborhoods in Cambridge and those in Boston in general are good for off campus housing?

Already signed a lease for an apartment just off the north end of MIT. It's about 1.8 miles south of HLS. Had to compromise on location to make it work with my fiancée's schooling.meowmers wrote:Anybody looking to live off campus here? If so: whereabouts?

As for 5 Cowperthwaite: I didn't know Harvard owned housing for HLS students that was so ridiculously far away from the law school. Why would you want to live there?

5 cowperthwaite is super new and pretty! and only 14 minutes away walking

14 mins isn't bad until it's snowing/storming outside and you've got an 8am contracts class. I had to Google maps it to see where it was and was also surprised any HLS ppl lived there. That's pretty out of the way tbhbuffy123 wrote:Haskins***TripTrip wrote:Hastings or Haskins?buffy123 wrote:buffy123 wrote:Anybody familiar with Haskins Hall or 5 Cowperthwaite?

Eta I'm not sure 14 mins is an accurate estimate. It takes me longer than that to get to zoes and zoes is closer to HLS. I'm a quick walker, too. Gmaps says 17 mins

Just here to echo that a 17 min walk seems fine until the 5-7 month winter sets in. That said, I lived way off campus this past year, and made it work (40 min bus ride plus 10 min walk). It did limit my activity on campus for social crap in the evenings though.foxes wrote:14 mins isn't bad until it's snowing/storming outside and you've got an 8am contracts class. Tldr: living a little bit off campus is doable, just be aware of what you are signing up for.

Re: Harvard C/O 2019
Thanks for the advice. Ended up opting for Haskins, which is .5 miles away but probably still a bitter 10 minutes in the winter. Hesitating to sign the lease though...I asked if I could see the building and was told I could only tour the exterior, not really sure what that would entail.Indifference wrote:Just here to echo that a 17 min walk seems fine until the 5-7 month winter sets in.
