living by myself is so nice never going back

I'll be living alone for the first time come August.

i'll have two other roommates, up from one now. I have lived alone, and while it's definitely preferred, I just can't do it on the student budget where I'm going. I'd much prefer to cut down on the debt up front.

Roomie story:

Currently live with an SO but before that I lived with two dudes who had been friends since 8th grade. One of them was a good roomie and the other one was terrible and gross. After I moved out the gross one left food out that was toxic to his dog and the good roomie legit like broke into their own apartment after being locked out to do emergency medical care on the dying dog and saved it from dying. A couple days later shitty roomie slept with a girl that good roomie had been in love with since he was like 14, after this dude JUST saved his dog's life. Shit EXTREME hit the fan, definitely glad I had already moved.

wow if it was that early on in the series I am surprised I remembered it... maybe it stuck with me as a vision of the future!!

Ugh. Haven't had roommates in almost four years now, but I've run the whole gamut. Roommate in college overdosed on vicodin, found out she was pregnant after getting her stomach pumped, and ripped our bathroom door off the hinges. Another roommate bought a rabbit without asking any of the eight people in the house and refused to cage it - it had a taste for leather shoes with a price point >$100. Lived briefly with a 50-year-old single guy who had two declawed Himalayan cats and treated my cat like she was a monster for NOT having had her fingertips barbarically cut off - our other roommate was a construction dude who must've been on the autism spectrum and could be heard physically fighting with his girlfriend in the basement at all hours. Oh, and then there was the roommate who "rented" our living room/couch to a friend of hers for six months without getting anyone else's permission - this girl moved ALL of her stuff into our living room and didn't have any furniture/shelves/storage containers, just reusable grocery bags full of crap.

Now living happily with my partner in a two-bedroom apartment. People keep asking if we want to rent out our guest room and we're like nope, that's the cat's room.

To hell with any and all roommate drama. My apartment my last year of undergrad was a warzone, as much as I tried to avoid it. Having four people in a two-bedroom was not a smart idea.
