Yup. Only thing of other significance worth mentioning is that I did specify a roommate. Not sure if that helps them make the assignment faster.theconsigliere wrote:And you only got the approval email yesterday, right?Bearlyalive wrote:Just got my assignment. Did not win the studio lottery, but I think I'll be pretty happy with the two-bedroom I got. UAH housing, unfurnished, gas and electric included.

Re: Columbia Law Class of 2019
Also just got my assignment today after receiving the approval email yesterday. I'll be living in UAH housing (W 111th st) with 2 business students. Would've liked to have lived with law students but it's cool. To be fair, I didn't list a preference for law school roommates on the application.

Yep! I didn't try for a studio and I sent several additional preferences, so I'm thinking that could be why.hopeful94 wrote:Anyone else get approved with no assignment just yet?

Re: Columbia Law Class of 2019
I sent an email with additional requests (two-bedroom instead of three for example) so that could explain the delay. Here's hoping we here back soon! Getting antsy.anonymous117 wrote:Yep! Got my housing info today. Didn't get a studio but I'm pleasantly surprised with the monthly rate for my apartment share.

Couldn't have been that long for me because I was obsessively checking yesterday and I never saw my address before getting the email. So for me it couldn't have been more than 2-3 hoursCerealMilk wrote:Just got my address too can't wait for the deets!! Can anyone give insight into how long it took between address and details email? Just got my e-mail! UAH, no address yesterday. Everything is pretty good except it's furnished unlike I requested, was really counting on not dealing with dorm room furniture.

If I remember from undergrad you can get housing to come take away the furniture you don't need.deepfriedmeatbun wrote:Just got my e-mail! UAH, no address yesterday. Everything is pretty good except it's furnished unlike I requested, was really counting on not dealing with dorm room furniture.

Re: Columbia Law Class of 2019
I don't know whether this is still the case, but I definitely recall having read about people removing furniture in the Ask Columbia thread. Apparently they found somewhere to put it in the basement of the building. They still had to pay the premium for the furnished apartment though, but that might be worth it to get non-dorm crap.
The policy might have changed since that was written, and it might even vary from building to building. I would honestly just call and ask.

They were really clear with me that removal under any circumstances was not an option which I'm not really thrilled with.papersnowaghost wrote:frasier wrote:If I remember from undergrad you can get housing to come take away the furniture you don't need.deepfriedmeatbun wrote:Just got my e-mail! i don't think this is the case here. it might be different for law school housing / UAH but i asked and was told that the furniture could not be removed (and it seemed like they meant either by them or by you)

I mean, I have to buy literally all my stuff once I get to the city, but my assigned bedroom is also massive and I'm really not OK with the idea of sleeping on a twin bed again. Queen + or bust.
