From what I've heard from friends who went to CLS, it's tough for newcomers to explore the city first semester (for obvious reasons). Getting some time in August to explore a bit is a great way to do it.

That makes a lot of sense. Plus, we out-of-towners will probably need significant recovery time from all of the pizza and hip trendy food (rainbow donuts?) that we'll be gorging ourselves on.

Don't get any food you see being "trendy" on a blog. It's never worth the massive lines.

And usually not friendly to a law school budget...but go crazy with the dollar pizza

Also my N64 skills are rusty (don't think I've played since high school), but I will be the mom who bakes cookies for your parties.

I'm trying to fill out my Financial Aid Questionnaire for loans, but it's asking for my Columbia ID number. Where are we supposed to find that?

The email that they sent me with the links and instructions to apply for housing had my PID number in it. Based on the info I can find online, the PID is the equivalent of our student ID numbers and should be a C followed by 9 numbers!

ETA: It can also be found online through LawNet, under "My Admit Profile."
