From what I've heard from friends who went to CLS, it's tough for newcomers to explore the city first semester (for obvious reasons). Getting some time in August to explore a bit is a great way to do it.
That makes a lot of sense. Plus, we out-of-towners will probably need significant recovery time from all of the pizza and hip trendy food (rainbow donuts?) that we'll be gorging ourselves on.
Don't get any food you see being "trendy" on a blog. It's never worth the massive lines.
And usually not friendly to a law school budget...but go crazy with the dollar pizza
Also my N64 skills are rusty (don't think I've played since high school), but I will be the mom who bakes cookies for your parties.

I also have a NES so we can definitely do an old school video game extravaganza.

I just noticed the floppy ear on your tar's puppy, and OMG that is adorable. Not that it wasn't before, but even more now.
Also, I have never played a Sega before, but I am more than willing to learn.

Right? I have a soft spot for floppy eared puppies. And the not floppy eared kind. And the kind that are no longer puppies. I'll bring it to the apartment.

Wait, are you saying you are bringing a dog to NYC? If so, we are now very good friends. I will spoil your dog.

I meant the Sega.. Sorry for the confusion. Unfortunately my beautiful pup is staying put in my parent's house, but it's only an hour from Columbia so I'm sure she'll be visiting.

We can swap puppy photos while we drink, revel, and play classic videogames late into the night. I will wait patiently to meet your pup in the
flesh fur.
(as previously established, the term "puppy" can be used to refer to any and all dogs)

I'm trying to fill out my Financial Aid Questionnaire for loans, but it's asking for my Columbia ID number. Where are we supposed to find that?

The email that they sent me with the links and instructions to apply for housing had my PID number in it. Based on the info I can find online, the PID is the equivalent of our student ID numbers and should be a C followed by 9 numbers!
ETA: It can also be found online through LawNet, under "My Admit Profile."

That worked, thanks!
Also, apparently I had not set up LawNet yet, despite having activated my Columbia email and doing my housing app...

That's still plenty of time to live it up for a few weeks before classes start!

Excellent. As I sit at work right now, drinks and N-64 for three weeks straight sounds pretty legit
