Where did you end up?

Georgetown. DC is the center of everything in the country that matters, so of course I'm going to the best school in DC. Also, have you SEEN the student rec center?!

George Washington. Georgetown is great, but G-Dub is in Foggy Bottom and I'd like to eat at ShopHouse as often as humanly possible.

Vanderbilt. Georgetown is too big, and I need to live in a city with actual barbecue.

UCLA. I don't understand why people would voluntarily go to law school somewhere that has winter.

Cornell. I want all of the prestige of Georgetown, but without all of that pesky cosmopolitan culture.

Northwestern. I needed a school that was more business-minded, and also one that has buildings that don't remind me of the USSR.

I just received a first offer of merit-based aid. I got in mid-Feb, requested consideration at the beginning of March.

It was less than I asked, and my intent to enroll for is due 4/11. Undecided as to whether I'll try to negotiate or just withdraw.

Just to be clear, this was an unsolicited request and not a response to the feeler email?

Meanwhile hotline has emailed me some bs about receptions THAT I'VE ALREADY RSVPED TO. Just say no money or some money and go. Sheesh.

I sent an unsolicited request that was pretty vague and didn't specify an amount, and then about 2 weeks later they asked how much would make a difference in my thinking.

Just FYI for those asking - three weeks from merit aid request to offer (never did get feeler email). And I got accepted in November, so I've been waiting a while. Hope those of you waiting also heard something today!

About three weeks between request and response. Initial offer of no merit aid, which means the difference in Georgetown and UT/Vandy for me is about $100K. As much as I like Georgetown, I don't think I could justify that difference. Hopefully they'll be more receptive to a renegotiation once I lay everything out.

Sent some questions to the hotline email about 3-4 business days ago and no response yet. Are they that backed up?

Yep, this morning. Sending in an initial negotiation email later today.

Was awarded about 32k/year as an Opportunity Scholarship! It's so tasty! New deadline looks like 4/11 for folks in this wave.

I didn't address any specific person. I just sent it to the admitted students hotline.

Sent to the hotline, but addressed Allison Spada who was named as my point person in the e-mail.

Congrats! Would you mind sharing your timeline (dates of acceptance, aid request, feeler email, etc.)?
Sure! Accepted in January, didn't get a feeler email, sent an unsolicited email requesting merit aid in mid-March, sent a follow up a few weeks later. I got an email next day that sounds similar to the feeler email and I replied immediately. (PM me if interested in specifics on any of this).

Just got a scholarship increase, but it does not show on the "myaccess" site. Is there a certain wait time before it shows up there?

This happened to me as well! I just got an Opportunity Scholarship increase, but the MyAccess is not reflecting that. I'm guessing it takes a bit of time?

I was about to check out of here, but Georgetown just sent me a pretty competitive offer (I was originally an alternate). Ah! Decisions, decisions...

Yea, I am assuming it is just a system thing that takes time. I am going to call tomorrow about something unrelated, so if it isn't updated by then I will bring it up.

Seriously? What are you waiting for?

Now there's a charge.
