Has anyone been responding to the emails from faculty? So far I've gotten stuff for vets and for law and economics, amomg a couple others. I know they're not being sent solely to me, but I am interested in some of the emails. I guess I just don't know how to approach it?

Is anyone planning to move into Harvard University Housing with a SO that is not a spouse? I looked on the guidelines and it seems pretty flexible as to what a "domestic partner" is.
"A domestic partnership is a long-term relationship with an exclusive mutual commitment similar to that of marriage. Each party is the other's sole domestic partner and intends to remain so indefinitely. They are in a relationship of mutual support, caring, and commitment. They share joint responsibility for their common welfare and are financially interdependent. Neither party is legally married, and they are not related by blood to a degree of closeness that would prohibit legal marriage in the state in which they legally reside. They must be at least eighteen (18) years of age and mentally competent to consent to contract."

From my friends' experience with couples housing at other schools, a joint bank account is usually enough proof.Theresa87 wrote:Is anyone planning to move into Harvard University Housing with a SO that is not a spouse? As a current student who lives in HUH with an SO- they didn't even check for any proof. We don't have a joint bank account and they let us in.schocolate wrote:From my friends' experience with couples housing at other schools, a joint bank account is usually enough proof.Theresa87 wrote:Is anyone planning to move into Harvard University Housing with a SO that is not a spouse? Re: Harvard C/O 2019
FYI - I saw some recent admits received their acceptance packet earlier this week, and since I live <10min away from the school and still haven't received mine I figured I'd call to make sure it wasn't lost in the mail. Turns out there was a delay in mailing out the acceptance packets for those with a last name between J-Z. So if you were in the March 28/29 wave and haven't received anything yet, don't worry, it should be coming soon.

On a sort of related note, anyone know the current timeline on fin aid offers? I'm a week away from a scholarship deadline but don't want to bother them if they're moving quickly enough at this point.

When did you get your financial aid application complete email? It should be no more than ten business days from that date, although there is a chance it comes faster. I think mine came about seven business days later.sfoglia wrote: On a sort of related note, anyone know the current timeline on fin aid offers? Also, I found this website: http://www.finaid.org/calculators/finaidestimate.phtml great for estimating your award. Select "Institutional Methodology" as the method, and pretend that you're a dependant under 26 no matter your actual circumstances. The number it spits out will be within an order of magnitude of what you can expect. Remember to reduce the parental contribution by 25% if you're 26 as of this August, 50% if you're 27, 75% if you're 28 and 100% if you're 29 or older.

You are a myth. The existence of Yale Law is an urban legend.WinterComing wrote:My parents are split. My mom can't get over just like the concept of Harvard Law, so she's team crimson. My dad thinks I should take the scholarship money and will regret the debt forever. (They say mother knows best...)
I'm curious: How many of you have family or friends who have an opinion regarding where you should attend law school?
Both my parents are officially crimson crazy, at this point.

SIGH, today. They've been checking everything off within a day of it being submitted, but there has been a delay in each portion because parents. It has been a week since I started the app. I read that they don't review until all is complete, but, you know.mdnyc wrote:When did you get your financial aid application complete email? Gah, okay. I'll send an email tomorrow morning if it's not an unreasonable request. I wish this school's deadline wasn't ten days before everyone else's. It's realllllly making this decision more difficult than it needs to be.clovis wrote:Mine came today, submitted 4/6.mdnyc wrote:When did you get your financial aid application complete email? I'm in pretty much the same boat (scholarship deadline in 7 days and waiting on H's package). Have you tried asking for an extension on the deadline? I'm sending a request today...sfoglia wrote:YAAAAAAAS.crescentstars wrote:I was literally just wondering this. Methinks we have the same school in mind. I'm emailing on Monday! Let me know what they say when they get back to you?
