I love certain musicals, but I don't have the deep knowledge that a bunch of other theatre people that I know are able to conjure up.

Favorite play: 12 Angry Men
Favorite play that I've been in: The Pillowman by Martin McDonagh

I usually get too influenced by the performances, but I saw Patrick Stewart and Ian McKellen in No Man's Land last year and it was amazing.

That's not even fair. They're reprising it in London this year and I want to fly there just to see it.

All excellent choices. Shakespeare doesn't even count in my head because they'd all be my favorites; our program had a heavy Shakespearean focus. Playing Odysseus sounds like a blast! That's awesome.

Also, Patrick Stewart says that who's afraid of virginia woolf is the quintessential american play, so you're in good company with that pick.

I'd recommend it, even with the flight

Also got to see a pre-opening showing of The Crucible with Ben Whishaw and Saorise Roanin a few weeks ago. If you're in NYC any time soon, highly recommend that as well.

Are you in there too? I'm just kinda skimming the convo and attempting (but failing) to follow it.
Yup - was posting a little bit earlier but then it got out of hand and I couldn't keep up with the lounge convo

Again, that's just insane. I haven't been to NY since I was like 6 but the theatre itself might be worth abandoning my plans and trying to go NYC Big Law.

Well, it is the place to be for it. I don't go a ton, but my mom's a theater professor (/actress/director/writer/all sorts of things), so she lets me know when there's something she's really excited for.

Seriously? What are you waiting for?
