Haven't heard from S, did not apply to Y, haven't heard about full scholly at NYU, and the other schools are not offering as much as H is. Aside from the year long winter weather, I am stoked! I am also excited to meet all of you!
Woah you. A full scholarship to NYU? I thought this was unheard of if not a named one...
Whoops! Sorry, it was late on my side of the country! I meant to say full tuition. I thought the closest a school gave to full scholly was Ruby + stipend.

Anyone who received their JS2 on 3/28 still waiting for their admissions packet? (Seattle resident here)

Also, when submitting our college certification, is it okay if we don't waive our right of access to the form? I just want my university dean's office to send me an electronic copy of whatever they send to HLS.

I forgot to mention my favorite part of ASW: using the reimbursement card Berkeley gave me for flying to their ASW, complete with the Cal bear on it, to pay for all my expenses at H. Felt so wrong yet so right

got my admissions packet today, and I am ready for them to design a new shield. The lack of branding is a little odd, and plain text logos are not as big of a hype.

YES THIS. They gave us so much bland swag at ASW and it just isn't the same.

I feel like the new shield might have to wait a year, until the school's bicentennial.

That's what my tour guide was saying is the rumor. The "Harvard Law School" in a box just isn't the same though

I feel like the shield with just veritas would be a fine stand-in until they unveil the official new design at the bicentennial. I agree that the plain 'Harvard Law School' is kinda meh

That makes the most sense. They can just write Harvard Law School underneath if they really felt it was necessary to differentiate.

My mother admitted it last night, she's team H.

(They say mother knows best...)

I'm curious: How many of you have family or friends who have an opinion regarding where you should attend law school?

Oh all of my family and friends think i'm borderline crazy for not committing to Harvard immediately. For people that know absolutely fuck all about law school, they feel very strongly about it.

Most people have been pretty understanding of my dilemma in choosing, though all but a few still lean Harvard.

I'm still paying for it on my own though so fortunately I don't have to pay deference to anyone else's opinion

I burned the ships behind me when I got into H by withdrawing from everywhere else, so it's been H (or Y) or bust since soon after I got my JS2.

Parents have been surprisingly supportive, even in the face of the debt I'll be taking on. Granted, I'll be taking it on, but it's nice to have the vote of confidence anyway. It's still tough for them and the rest of my extended family to even understand why I would even wait on Y.

My parents are split. My mom can't get over just like the concept of Harvard Law, so she's team crimson. My dad thinks I should take the scholarship money and will regret the debt forever. I suppose I'll disappoint both of them by going to Yale.

Dumb question: How do we withdraw our other applications? Is an email to admissions@whatever.edu sufficient? Do certain schools have more elaborate requirements?

Yes it should be. If more action is required they'll tell you in their response.

I'll be in Cambridge tomorrow evening through Tuesday midday if people want to meet up! Schocolate mentioned perhaps getting together at the breakfast on Saturday, but I'm down for other meetups too. :)

Feel free to PM me.

Seconded! I don't have a lot of free time before ASW, but I'd love to meet people this weekend.

Seriously? What are you waiting for?

Now there's a charge.
Just kidding ... it's still FREE!
