Where did you end up?

Georgetown. DC is the center of everything in the country that matters, so of course I'm going to the best school in DC. Also, have you SEEN the student rec center?!

FYI for anyone attending the ASW this weekend: https://www.washingtonpost.com/news/dr- ... ar-summit/

No wonder hotels were all booked up and ridiculously pricey. Also, traffic will probably be a nightmare :(

I'll be sitting in on a class tomorrow if anyone will be around!

Check the spreadsheet. Someone got a call.
They are anon but you can find them on LSN if you cross reference the numbers. I sent an email today asking if we will know before Friday. I know they have a waitlist/make multiple rounds of offers, as PILS selected people usually have options. That info came from a former PILS. Anyway, the wait is killing me slowly.
Spreadsheet?

So if I am 100% sure that I would not accept the scholarship offer that I have already received, but I am waiting to hear back from an attempt to negotiate a higher amount, should I send back the intent to enroll form?

Again, I don't think the form is truly binding in any way, but how much do you need them to come up? If it's by more than 10-15k a year, I don't know how likely it is that you could get them up by that much, meaning maybe you should move on to other options. You can still negotiate after sending in that form, though. Maybe call their office and talk to someone about your situation?

I spoke with someone in the admissions office yesterday regarding the Opportunity Scholarship. The scholarship amount that they specify in your email will be the amount you receive every year, regardless of if your need based aid is reduced in future years. If that happens to be the case, admissions will make up the difference in merit aid to make sure you never dip below the scholarship amount awarded to you. Again, this is in regards to the Opportunity Scholarship. I'm not sure about other schollys.

Just received an email placing me on the wait list for PILS. Does anyone know chances of getting in off of this wait list and/or recommendations for how to proceed? Thank you so much! :D

This was the email:
"Thank you so much for taking the time to apply to the Public Interest
Law Scholars Program at Georgetown. I am writing because our
selection committee met this week, and you are one of a very small
number of students who have been placed on the wait list for the
program. The PILS wait list moves every year, and I will be able to
tell you on Thursday, April 14th, what your exact place is on the
list."

I got this too, a few days asking for merit aid. Do you think this was their backhanded way of saying "no" (like, sorry we can't offer you money but here is a video of Andy saying we hope you come) or will I hear back explicitly?

I would think you'd hear back explicitly, as I don't think the two are connected. Those of us admitted months ago got those videos weeks later, and merit aid started going out long after that. I wouldn't worry yourself too much!

I sent an email requesting merit aid about two weeks ago and sent an email yesterday following up. They replied today:
Thank you for your email. At this time, the Committee on Scholarship is still reviewing files for potential merit awards and hopes to get back in touch with you as soon as possible. If you have any deadlines that you are concerned about, please let us know and we can bring it to the Committee’s attention. Thanks!
Someone's theory earlier that they may wait to see who misses the April 1 deadline, so they know how much money they have to throw around, seems plausible.

I was awarded need based aid already.

Does the $1,000 intent to enroll deposit go towards tuition? Or is it just throw away money to keep negotiations open?

If you decide to enroll, and are contemplating a public interest career, I highly recommend putting in the effort to crap together two little essays for the public interest fellow program.

oooh I got another email that sounds similar to the feeler email sent out to others earlier this month. It asks for additional information as well as how much funding/ where GULC fits in my thought process. Did anyone like... write an essay? I don't really have any changes (I'm working so no new grades or anything to submit). I have some negotiating tactics already planned out on the money/offer side

(feel free to PM me)

Hi! Which class are you sitting in on? My train arrives in DC around ~12:30PM tomorrow and sitting in on Bargain, Exchange & Liability at 1.55PM :)

Guys, so I got put on alternate a couple weeks ago and I sent an email last week asking to be reconsidered for merit aid and sent my scholarship (half tuition) from both Mich and Cornell. However, I haven't gotten any response yet. Should I send a follow-up email or just wait? (or just give up?)

They seem to be only sending out responses re: scholarship on Mondays (at least that has been the trend for the first initial wave and two negotiation waves since), so I would probably hold off until Tuesday to think about sending a follow-up.

I received an increased amount last night. They probably just wanted to get a few out before the April 1 deadline though.

So I am most likely going to be attending a different school, but I did just get notified of my opportunity scholarship and it is higher than I thought it would be.

If I submit the scholarship intent to enroll form (I know many of us have said it doesn't seem to be binding) but do I have to check both the I am please to accept G-Town's scholarship..... and also the one right below it saying I will pay my tuition deposit online....

Or can I just check off the first one and not the second, since I don't know if I'll actually be enrolling?

This is sort of an off-topic question, but is the entire law school website down right now? Nothing will load for me.
