No wonder hotels were all booked up and ridiculously pricey. Also, traffic will probably be a nightmare

I'll be sitting in on a class tomorrow if anyone will be around!

They are anon but you can find them on LSN if you cross reference the numbers. I sent an email today asking if we will know before Friday. I know they have a waitlist/make multiple rounds of offers, as PILS selected people usually have options. That info came from a former PILS. Anyway, the wait is killing me slowly.
Again, I don't think the form is truly binding in any way, but how much do you need them to come up? If it's by more than 10-15k a year, I don't know how likely it is that you could get them up by that much, meaning maybe you should move on to other options. You can still negotiate after sending in that form, though. Maybe call their office and talk to someone about your situation?Today wrote:So if I am 100% sure that I would not accept the scholarship offer that I have already received, but I am waiting to hear back from an attempt to negotiate a higher amount, should I send back the intent to enroll form?

Same here. Fuck.seagan823 wrote:PILS ding. Sad.
I got this too, a few days asking for merit aid. Do you think this was their backhanded way of saying "no" (like, sorry we can't offer you money but here is a video of Andy saying we hope you come) or will I hear back explicitly?ih8makingscreennames wrote:I got a personalized video from Andy, but I really just want that initial merit offer. I mean it would be like awwwwwww if I wasn't like where's the money?
I would think you'd hear back explicitly, as I don't think the two are connected. Those of us admitted months ago got those videos weeks later, and merit aid started going out long after that. I wouldn't worry yourself too much!DeathByLSATWasTaken wrote:I got this too, a few days asking for merit aid. Someone's theory earlier that they may wait to see who misses the April 1 deadline, so they know how much money they have to throw around, seems plausible.Thank you for your email. At this time, the Committee on Scholarship is still reviewing files for potential merit awards and hopes to get back in touch with you as soon as possible. If you have any deadlines that you are concerned about, please let us know and we can bring it to the Committee’s attention. Thanks!

Thank you for this!trilliviapope wrote:I spoke with someone in the admissions office yesterday regarding the Opportunity Scholarship. The scholarship amount that they specify in your email will be the amount you receive every year, regardless of if your need based aid is reduced in future years. If that happens to be the case, admissions will make up the difference in merit aid to make sure you never dip below the scholarship amount awarded to you. Again, this is in regards to the Opportunity Scholarship. I'm not sure about other schollys.
If you decide to enroll, and are contemplating a public interest career, I highly recommend putting in the effort to crap together two little essays for the public interest fellow program.darlenealderson wrote:+1, though I don't think this will effect my decisionseagan823 wrote:PILS ding. Sad.

They seem to be only sending out responses re: scholarship on Mondays (at least that has been the trend for the first initial wave and two negotiation waves since), so I would probably hold off until Tuesday to think about sending a follow-up.Egzon wrote:Guys, so I got put on alternate a couple weeks ago and I sent an email last week asking to be reconsidered for merit aid and sent my scholarship (half tuition) from both Mich and Cornell. I received an increased amount last night. They probably just wanted to get a few out before the April 1 deadline though.squirtlesquad14 wrote:They seem to be only sending out responses re: scholarship on Mondays (at least that has been the trend for the first initial wave and two negotiation waves since), so I would probably hold off until Tuesday to think about sending a follow-up.Egzon wrote:Guys, so I got put on alternate a couple weeks ago and I sent an email last week asking to be reconsidered for merit aid and sent my scholarship (half tuition) from both Mich and Cornell.
