I've decided to learn German before law school starts, because if understanding any culture will help me with the strict legal nature of law school, it has to be German. Also (mostly) because I'm dating a girl that speaks German and if I learn German we can talk about people in public and mess with people at bars.

Anyone else pursuing a ridiculous task to help pass the time? Anyone have any idea how to learn German other than Duolingo?

I'm reading Gravity's Rainbow and wanted to learn a bit of Irish.

I'd like to strengthen my Spanish, may give a go with these apps. With my current lease ending in a few months, I'm thinking about starting an llc so I can quit my job and still save money. If successful, yay for income this summer. If not, I'll just lose out on the filing costs and go home in defeat, tail between legs. We'll see...

How about you come answer phones and schedule appointments all day and I go nap? You get job experience and I get to sleep! Everyone wins!

Legal Assistant here, my time to brag - 'work' is generally defined as shmoozing/snacking/browsing tls and reddit with an hour or two of actual productivity gently mixed in. Easy to sneak off for a quick nap or errand too as long as I don't overdo it. And it comes with the free job experience as well!

Honestly, I miss doing physical labor for work.
The hours were worse but for the work I was doing the pay was better, when I left work I was absolutely certain I was done for the day, and I didn't have to deal with weird office politics.

But, you know, grass is greener, etc.

Tbh I don't think I'm qualified for any of these jobs. I guess I once had an unpaid internship where I answered phones but that's about it...

It was.
The only reason I stopped doing it is because the hours were really inconsistent. Some weeks I'd be turning down gigs left and right and others I'd be scrambling to get something. I'll probably try to pull some work on that front during the summer though to pick up some extra cash before school. On some of these gigs I could literally make $1K in a day. Bear in mind though that a day like that was usually a 22 hour workday...
