Hmm, it seems like Harvard took the opposite approach as Berkeley did regarding large issues at the law school. I guess I'm not too surprised that much discussion wasn't incorporated into the weekend, but I expected that students would have mentioned it a bit more. But thanks for the update + the link!tflan19 wrote:They mentioned Belinda Hall and the removal of the Royall shield during the official admissions tours. Other than that, they were extremely vague in referencing the movement or discussion that accompanies it. Students involved with Reclaim HLS started posting flyers all over campus on Friday morning during programming but other than that, and their physical presence in Belinda Hall, it wasn't a focal point of ASW.crescentstars wrote:For any ASW-goers: I'm really curious to know what's going on with Belinda Hall and everything surrounding it. Anyone mind posting about it if you heard anything? Or if it's too sensitive, mind PMing me your thoughts? I'll be at the second ASW, but I'm curious to know what I should look out for!
^^Also, I didn't even go this weekend, but all these posts are already giving me major HLS hype. And based on the pic, I think I met at least one of you at Columbia last week hahaha.

Do we expect that last week's admits will get their financial aid info before the May 1st commitment deadline?
Also, am I missing something or is there no required tuition deposit?

As long as you submit by April 15th, you should hear. Best way to ensure that happens is to make sure FAFSA is already filled out and submitted to HLS and (if applicable) your parents are ready to submit to HLS their 2015 tax returns.RZ5646 wrote:Do we expect that last week's admits will get their financial aid info before the May 1st commitment deadline?

No tuition deposit is required.

Has anyone admitted last week received the financial aid application email yet? I'm still waiting on it...Last email I received was two days ago to set up my Harvard PIN.RZ5646 wrote:Do we expect that last week's admits will get their financial aid info before the May 1st commitment deadline?

You'll get an HLS keychain with your acceptance packet (took about a little more than a week to get to me in NYC) and in a month or so you will get a book by a faculty member.-lemonlyman- wrote:I haven't received anything yet (not sure about today's mail though), and I'm just a couple states away from MA.RZ5646 wrote:I haven't received anything either.Topszn wrote:Nope. As a heads up, I was accepted in March and there was no keychain in my packet. Re: Harvard C/O 2019
I think they discontinued the keychain with the change of the Royall shield (it was all over the thing). I received one in Feb but the administration officially asked for it to be changed in early March. All of the swag we received at ASW was very intentionally without the shield, just "Harvard Law School" in a plain box.schocolate wrote:As a heads up, I was accepted in March and there was no keychain in my packet. Ah, I was hoping for some apparel, but a book is pretty cool (assuming it's a law-related book?). I guess, I'll have to buy my own shirt when I visit.mdnyc wrote:You'll get an HLS keychain with your acceptance packet (took about a little more than a week to get to me in NYC) and in a month or so you will get a book by a faculty member.-lemonlyman- wrote:I haven't received anything yet (not sure about today's mail though), and I'm just a couple states away from MA.RZ5646 wrote:I haven't received anything either.Topszn wrote:Nope. Yeah, they send you a book related to your expressed field of interest, written by an HLS faculty member and signed/with a note from them!RZ5646 wrote: Ah, I was hoping for some apparel, but a book is pretty cool (assuming it's a law-related book?). And rumor has it they might announce a new shield in 2017 as that is the bicentennial of the law school?
