Hi all, is anyone attending the admitted students weekend and Supreme Court visit next week??

If I had known about it earlier then I would have taken off an additional day to attend the SCOTUS tour.

Yeah, I had to ask for another day off of work in order to attend. Anyone want to share which hotel they're staying at? Everything I've found seems to be ridiculously expensive or so inconvenient I might as well stay outside of DC near a metro station. I was hoping to stay nearby and get the full DC experience though.

Not sure what the rates are for the next ASW, but I went to the one in January and stayed at the Hyatt right down the street. With the GULC discount, it wasn't super pricey (but January is off-season, so I'm not sure), and it was really nice and extremely convenient.

For January's Open House, all I had to do was call the Hyatt with this corporate number: 58549. It's 10-20% off, depending on the type of room you book. If you go to the FAQ for the Open Houses on the Admitted Students Website, it has the "special rates" for local hotels.

I checked in on the discount and the cheapest you can get is still like $400. I live in Baltimore, but still don't want to do that round trip drive twice. Looking at Airbnb places now - if anyone is down to go splits on a multi-bed place within walking/metro distance to save some $$, let me know!

I'm using it to negotiate with other schools and just referring to it as the scholarship they're offering me. If it goes up once they've given me a merit award then that's just a higher offer I can bring back to the negotiating table.

I was admitted after the feeler emails went out, so I requested merit aid consideration at the beginning of the month, and today I got an email that feels like a feeler email? It asks for any information about what I'm thinking or what amount would make a difference.

I think a decent portion of us still haven't heard one way or the other re scholarship (myself included). However, I sent a request to be considered to the hotline email, so they at least know I'm seriously considering Georgetown. Couldn't hurt for you to do the same.

It varies based on the applicant. I submitted in early March and haven't heard anything, but others who submitted after me have already received offers.

Just got my second revised scholarship offer! I've managed to get from $12.5k up to $20k through two rounds of negotiation, so as a splitter without any other T14 acceptances I'm definitely feeling a lot better about GULC.
