Gotta wait for the Fin Aid email as far as I know :(
Correct! Don't worry though. It will come.

Any thoughts from ASW that someone unable to attend should know? How did it go?

SO GREAT I absolutely loved all the students, professors, classrooms, etc. I cannot think of a single H con (as far as the school goes) so its only the price standing in my way... but I just bought a ton of ~swag~ and am currently wearing a sweatshirt so I think committing is imminent

on that note how do you withdraw applications???

My situation is unique, since I have a family, but I'm not going to pay Cambridge prices if I end up at Harvard. I'd rather commute in from Somerville, Arlington, or Watertown. This weekend, public transit seemed really doable.
I stayed in Somerville with a friend this weekend and the commute to HLS was very easy from there.

Oh Thankyou, I'd just PM'd you as well! Yeah the price is a bit of a concern but the school just looks and sounds so enticing. To withdraw applications, I just emailed the generic admissions@ addresses with a pretty standard "thank you for the offer/consideration... Much appreciated... Reduced my options to X and X (or, committed to school X)... respectfully withdraw application from consideration." Just did a boilerplate for every school and changed the names!

Uhh, what cities are y'all from? Would love to meet up with anyone in Philly!

Also, unrelated, anybody do mock trial in college? Wondering if there'll be any other former competitors at HLS this year.
Resurrecting a dead post, but a mocker can't resist. I'm on my 4th year now, going to Nats in SC in two weeks (which means I unfortunately can't make the ASW).
I wish I were fortunate enough to have Nats as a reason to miss ASW! My last year of mock ended very unceremoniously.

Planning on doing any trial ad-related orgs at HLS?
It's my personal first time going to Nats, so I'm pretty excited about going out this way!

And I'm not sure. But I also haven't looked into it very much.

On average, Somerville and Cambridge rent prices tend to be pretty similar, for what it's worth. Expect to pay ~$1800 for a 1br and ~$2200 for a 2br in the parts of Somerville that have an easy commute to campus. If y'all are looking for dirt cheap, you probably won't find that around there.

Agreed, if visiting is an option, do it. It pretty much convinced me that it was the right place for me. If visiting isn't an option, just ask to talk to as many folks as you can. I think current students can give you a great feel for if its the right place for you or not.

Did Harvard give y'all anymore free SWAG? I mean, that won't justify the trip (I'm going to be in attendance regardless), but I do love my free swag.

For any ASW-goers: I'm really curious to know what's going on with Belinda Hall and everything surrounding it. Anyone mind posting about it if you heard anything? Or if it's too sensitive, mind PMing me your thoughts? I'll be at the second ASW, but I'm curious to know what I should look out for!

^^Also, I didn't even go this weekend, but all these posts are already giving me major HLS hype. And based on the pic, I think I met at least one of you at Columbia last week hahaha.

Thanks guys, really helpful! As unlikely as it is, i'll try and make ASW2 happen. If not I'll have to come for a scheduled visit!

They mentioned Belinda Hall and the removal of the Royall shield during the official admissions tours. Other than that, they were extremely vague in referencing the movement or discussion that accompanies it. Students involved with Reclaim HLS started posting flyers all over campus on Friday morning during programming but other than that, and their physical presence in Belinda Hall, it wasn't a focal point of ASW.

Also very young-looking - I'm starting to feel really old out here :(

Can we at least get the five tls usernames to narrow down the guesses?
